Rim Stripe Tips: Anyone?

Hey i goggled some sites about rim stripin' my 250's rims but so far all ive found (i dont feel like spending a Lifetime going over every Link posted in the search!) are websites with Kits they sell! and at like $40 etc IMO a Rip off! Ebay i dont trust, and dont wanna deal with getting the wrong thing, etc shipping it back!
So isnt there a local common store i could BUY (maybe $5) some pinstripe tape, or sumin close too it?

Also what kinda stuff do i need to apply it too my Rims? Any info would be Great guys!

-Thanks!!!

alright, so i bought mine off ebay. Reflective, shipping took some time (3 weeks) as they came from hong kong. however the rim tape is excellent, reflective, and looks great. d2moto started carrying it for 14 plus shipping, however i think the kawi dealers also sell them for 14 but non reflective.

for application, i first cleaned the wheel with soap and water. I then took a cotton swab dabbed with alcohol and cleaned the rims once again.

Then slowly inch by inch i would rotate the wheel and go on applying little by little. It's a time consuming process but definitely worth it in the end as if it is rushed it may look bad. Good luck!

I went riding with my boss's bf today and he had bought his from ebay for $10 and came on a sheet and was going to put some extra he had on mine but he only had some for 16" tires. Forgot to ask him from which company or person he had them made from but i will ask the next time i see him which should be next weekend. He said they were available in regular tape or reflective in different colors.

hi dave
i got me a set of reflective rim tape from ebay for aprox. $6.00, free shipping...for us in hawaii, thats a plus.
anyway, was my first time applying this stuff, and what i liked about the tape i got was that it was cut in semi-circular strips as opposed to straight strips, which i thought made putting it on easier.
it's been maybe a month if that, and it's holding up well. am sure there's alot out there and you'll find whatcha look'n for.

aloha

I bought mine from a Hong Kong seller on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=280335396581
Total price was $5.99 US - including shipping!
The stripes took about two weeks to arrive.

Once they arrived, I washed the wheels very thoroughly with soapy water, rinsed, and then wiped the wheel rims down with a "wet wipe" and rubbing alcohol to remove any possible grease or soap residue.

I then was very patient and took my time. It took me about 60 minutes to apply the actual tape.

The stripes look great, and add additional nighttime visibility!

Ebay, nice and cheap. Clean rims thoroughly with soap+alcohol. Try to find pre-curved ones, much easier to apply.

I just picked these up on eBay for $12 a set. I'm eventually going to powdercoat my rims red, but I want to get one more season out of my tires before I coat the rims and mount new tires at the same time. Sorry for the crappy picture, my camera is a relic. The rim strips have "Kawasaki Racing" printed on them.

I got mine for "GLsigns" on ebay... someone had done a nice review on their stripes on a youtube video (guy with an EX500 that does great how tos).. anyway

http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/glsign..._sopZ12?_rdc=1

That's the link.. I think it was like $7 with free shipping.. got here in about 3 or 4 days.. look great..

I'm actually going to maybe have to order another set since Im having a new front tire mounted and I'm pretty sure the weight will be moved...

If you dont have F/R stands, friend pointed this out to me the other day:
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=98800

Havent seen it in person, seems like it would be just the ticket for rim stripe application
