Changing Plugs - No SP tool in kit

My 2006 was missing the tool kit when I bought it so I don't have a flexible spark plug wrench. I also don't want to remove the tank. Is it possible to change the plugs w/o removing the tank if I use a flex connector on my socket?

Thx

GP

My bike didn't come with a toolkit either so I just used a standard socket wrench with a extended socket and took my time. If you remove the gas tank it makes it a lot easier. I have similar socket tool that came with my set to bend it around the tight spaces but I just used an extender to get it around the frame and that seemed to work fine. Take your time and don't overtighten the plugs and you should be good.

Spark plug socket, 3" stubby extension, with ratchet and you're good to go. Removing the tank does make it easier.

Ideally, you don't want to use antiseize, you need dielectric grease. Furthermore you don't want to apply anything on plugs that have metal coating on them. Depends on company, but NGK is the only plug you want to be putting in there:

Been using anti-seize on every plug on every motor i've owned over the last 20 + years. I wouldn't install a plug without it.

OK just read the warning not to use anti-seize on NGK plugs. I stand corrected. However I won't stop using the stuff as I was taught to use the "Mechanics Feel" when tightening anything.

Pardon me, I'm just old skool.
