Front suspension upgrade

Ok looking into a suspension upgrade for the pre gen front..
Looking at emulators springs and preload adjusters... I'm finding a lot of contrasting information....
What exactly is available and what will work on the pre gen.. I've found emulators and springs for a new gen and all the info I have is pointing to the new gen and pre gen internals are all the same... Is this true... And if so what about the new gen adjustable preload adjusters.. Will they work or is there an adjustable alternative for the pre gen...

Springs, emulators, and preload adjusters are all the same.

Replace the retaining C-clip with a snap ring. Preload adjusters may not be worth it when you can use a pvc pipe and a few washers. Vary the number of washers to vary the preload. Spend your money instead on linear rate springs that match your body weight. Sonic springs are less than $100. The newgen spring isn't necessarily better depending on your body weight. Don't forget constant viscosity fork oil is also an upgrade.
