2013 Summer Ride: San Jose, CA to NYC, New York

So @setasai and I are going to have a cross country trip from San Jose to NYC. We need your help in finding awesome places to eat, sleep, and ride along the way. And if some of you want to join us for portions of the ride (or feed us and let us crash on your couch) thats cool too.

So here is the boring unaltered route. We need to spice it up a bit (without turning it into a 6,000mi ride ) Must see sites? Fantastic food joints? Epic ride routes? Help add them to our route

The route doesn't necessarily have to go along this ling it can be more northern or southern, this is just what google maps defaulted too.

Link to editable route

I added in pins along the way so it would be easier for people to edit the route.

I too am in the process of planning a cross country trip, but for summer 2014. Are you round tripping it or flying back somehow? Have any parameters like max amount of days, max amount of miles, cost? Which bike do you plan to take.

Yea I'm not sure. We're doing it because he moved to NY and needs to bring his bike up there. I'll look into renting a bike and riding over there or maybe ride my bike over and either ride back or ship it back. Anyway, the route there is mostly what we are looking at. We'd probably do it over 2-3 weeks, probably shoot for max of 4k miles, that'd be 200-300mi/day which isn't very hard

Oh dude, I80/I90 is right up near Cleveland. I was up there this summer with Filipe the Ant.

I'm about 40 minutes south of there. Not far.

Dude, idk how to post google maps I've tried a few times and failed every time. Hudson OH is 44236. Google it. Anywhere between there and your marker in Ohio is fair game. Just need to think of something interesting for you guys to do on a rest break.

When are you going? I'm heading in that direction to start the Iron Butt Rally around 6/24 or so. Will also be zipping all around the country for the following two weeks or so.

Not entirely sure yet but I'd guess about a month before Brian has to return to school, and I think he started at the end of july/beginning of august this year so it might just work out
