Aftermarket Foot Pegs

I finally found some nice affordable pegs for my 250R. I really wanted some that were fully rounded but still solid. Everytime I would check ebay I would only find some for the pre gen 250 or passenger set but not ours. I took the risk and ordered these that are supposed to be for the older model 250 and found that they fit! The only things I had to do was squish the spring alittle forward. Turned out just the way I wanted and they feel a whole lot better then the rubber ones.

Just thought I would pass this along. here the link to the sellers store
http://stores.shop.ebay.com/LuckyBik...34Q2ec0Q2em322
Combined with the foot extenders I feel like I have real aftermarket rearsets now.

Question: Do those pegs fold up if hit from the bottom like the stock pegs or are they locked in position straight out?

They fold just like the originals would because they still use the same spring. The spring is just a little more foward but it works exactly like stock.

on a more serious note: Those look really sturdy..I have some different ones( the same KKim had at one time and his sagged mine didn't until a few rides later. But not bad..just a little.)

I might look into these new ones...

haha I set myself up for that one....kkim how long did it take until your foot pegs started sagging did the peg itself wear down.

Sorry to be a pain, but I don't think the original spring affects whether the pegs fold up or not. The spring is used to push the peg back DOWN after it folds UP when it scrapes or hits the road. Would just like to know if you pull up on the peg with your finger, does it fold up like the stock one? Thanks.

no problem, I thought it was the same thing but yes they fold up like the originals and also spring down the same.

I'd say a few months. It has to do with how the inside edge of the peg is against the frame side of the peg holder. The pegs Z and I bought were for some Suzuki... should have known then something wasn't right.

Don't worry about it... the ones you have look quite beefy and if they do sag, they can be fixed with a dab or two of JB Weld.

I edited my post , Kkim and I had a different type of aftermarket ones. they did not look as strong as these.

How does the grip feel on them? I have a feeling the rubber on the stock ones would be better wet? or am I making things up?

They do have grip rings if you look closely but the rubber ones were alot stickier. As far as wet im not sure but dont most sportbikes come with aluminum pegs instead of rubber or am i wrong.

Its really easy just remove the clip on the bolt that runs through the peg and slide the bolt out then place everything back on and slide the pin into place. The only thing is that you kind of have to put pressure on the spring in a downward toward the bike motion to slide the pin through. Look a Kellys 3rd and 4th pic in here for reference http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10129 (hope you dont mind Kelly).

we use to use pegs that looked just like that on our mini bikes (ysr50). they were plenty sturdy enough. we crashed it A LOT and they held up well. eventually we did damage the backside (where it pushes on the frame or bracket to keep from folding down) somehow and they began to "sag"... we siliconed a penny behind it and it was good as new again.

Thanks for the tip (just in case they do sag) because I really like the way they feel and I wouldnt want to go back to the originals. After the penny trick did they every mess up again?

I checked up on my pegs and so far they have held up fine. No damage to the pegs angle or paint. The grip is pretty good but I havn't seen how they hold up wet. I also forgot to mention for those who are getting these that I found out that the peg can actually unscrews from the mount. Im not sure why they do this but lots of other pegs do to. It didnt fall out but I saw another pic of some pegs so I tried it you might want to put some locktite in there just in case but im not sure.

Shift can you take a picture of this? I thought there was a pin or something holding the peg in place- or am I thinking of something else??

no I just tried to unscrew it since I saw another pic of some pegs that could unscrew. It wont get loose but I thought I would just put some locktite. It might be able to do that for replacement purposes or something. Ill put up a pic later.
