Brembo/Tokico Caliper adapter, 250 & 300 GB
I have edited this to reflect i will now also be making a tokico adapter to use with the stock rotor.
So if anyone followed Joe (subxero), he asked me to do an adapter to mount a 65mm brembo caliper to his stock forks. He was also using a 320mm rotor. A few others seemed interested so i figured i would run a group buy for them. I dont have a business, i use a machine at work when it has downtime or i end up having to go in on a saterday to do these. So it will be easier to have a total number and do them at once now that my program is done and proved out. I have also purchased a right side Tokico caliper off an 02 gsxr 750. 00-02 gsxr 750 or 01-03 gsxr 600 appear to be the same 4 pot calipers, and i will also be doing a bracket for these calipers using the stock rotor as well. Price reflects a combination of the 2, work is work. Prices will be - Under 5 people - 50 shipped 5-9 people - 45 shipped 10+ - 40 shipped If anyone would like this type of adapter with a different sized rotor, different caliper etc, PM me. If you can get me accurate measurements i can make one. Ill run this until the end of June and then order the material i need. For those wondering, this is 6061 T6 aluminum. THanks Pics added - taken by myself and Joe on his bike Current list Brembo with 320mm rotor: 1 - subxero 1- Psych0hans Tokico with stock rotor: 1- Psych0hans 1- sharky nrk 1- dandj86 1- verboten1 1- broken neck 1- tfkrocks Last futzed with by Bigballsofpaint; July 7th, 2014 at 06:35 AM. |

Quiet surprised at the lack of response... Will this work with non brembo brakes?

^ dunno, I designed the bracket around the rotor and caliper I wanted to use. If the spacing on the holes of the different caliper are 65mm It might be possible? Someone would have to try it, as it will not be me.
Does anyone know if the brake mounting on the 300 is the exact same as the 250? I would suspect it is but I think the attachment on the fork leg just looks a little different but all measurements are the same? anyone confirm? This would probably work on a 300 as well. here is link to my brake mod thread https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=177974 IDK? for $40 bucks even if it was something I was only slightly interested in, I would still probably spring for the bracket just to have incase I decided to do it. If I decided not go through with it just sell it on ebay $80 = profit

Pretty sure the 300 and 250 is the same, im not sure if other calipers have the same dimensions as the brembo. Subxero got his off a certain bike, so im sure that other calipers that would fit that bike and would be the same dimensionally. Or if people from xx bike upgrade to that brembo then they would also be the same. I havent looked into any of that though, for the price of these im sure people will investigate.

I'd be in for 1 maybe even two (<--one just to see if i could sell one on ebay for more $)and another just for the upgraded thickness. It seems to be no problem but centering the rotor just a little bit more between the two pads can't be a bad thing

ill try and get it to you shortly. I just need to look at things quick and decide which direction i need to move the holes in relation to the fork mount tubes.
I still don't think there is anything bad about the current placement but again it will just fine tune things a bit.

Just some info if people are interested in trying another caliper with this bracket.
I got the 65mm brembo off of a 01 ducati 748. Like someone else mentioned any other calipers that would bolt directly on to that bike or any bike that comes stock with the 65mm brembo should work with this bracket with out much issue. i might look into see if there are any other calipers that would fit the bill. Quick search and i can't really come up with anything. But just hound ebay for the brembo's and keep searching sooner or later you find some for a good price!

could the group by still count if you got one of these setup for the cheaper/more available nissin or tokico calipers? If it screws up anyone/the group buy then keep me signed up for the brembo unit

^ Jason has said a few times, if you are willing to put in the time and design the bracket and give him all the numbers he will happily machine them for a reasonable cost.
^this is what i did. So just buy the caliper you want to use and figure out the important numbers for the bracket dimensions and presto you have yourself a bracket!

Update on this, ill still give the 5 unit price since its not a big deal. I dont want to shun anyone away who wants it over 5 bucks. Im going to order enough material to do 5 parts. psych0hans, with you being overseas i think shipping may cost a bit more. Ill have to look into that, i already make little on these so i cant really eat the shipping cost if its more than 10. Ill still make the part and figure it out when that comes around though.
No one has replied about the 300 adapter, so ill just roll with this for now unless everyone wants to wait. |

Yeah, I feel like this would be more popular if there was a better selection of 320mm rotors out there and if it was designed for a less expensive caliper. When I went about getting all of this stuff done I wasn't worried about the masses, it was what I wanted and didn't care if it catered to others or not. Someone should go about designing a bracket for the Nissin radial calipers I feel like that would draw more interest as it seems that what people want now a days.
Either way, everything on my bike is working great still and I think it looks sexy as hell. The brake chatter has gone down significantly and expect it to improve more. I do believe it was because my rotor wasn't super clean from the start.

Ya i noticed thats what old3 used on his 300. They can be had for 50-75 off ebay. Im not yet looking for a brake upgrade though otherwise i would just buy one and do it. If anyone was willing to send one, i would only need it for a week or 2.

OK, i bit the bullet and purchased a tokico caliper from an 02 gsxr 750. Its a 4 pot caliper, should arrive next week. Id rather not see people have a buy into a certain set of parts since thats the only thing available. Joe got what he wanted, but that doesnt mean someone else wants the same thing. Joe, i will still make another one for you a little thicker, so no worries.
Now, do people still want the brembo adapter with 320mm rotor, or wait a little for the tokico on stock rotor? |

Sent you a PM.
Are there any other stock rotors that fit the ninjette without mods that would be an upgrade to match the caliper with?

No problem, i ordered enough material for 10 pieces, plus a few for scrap on this tokico one. So if anyone else wants in, or a 300 wants to give a whirl at a discount, i have enough. No payment until its all finished and ready to go, which will hopefully be end of the month.

i still don't remember, has anyone physically confirmed that the 250 and 300 caliper mounting geometry are the same? I suspect they are but it is always nice to see someone actually check?
Hey Jay, I am thinking since I am the only one getting the brembo caliper there is no point to make me a new one. The one I have works perfectly fine, the alterations that were suggested were just to cover all ends for other potential buyers. and just FYI, everything is still working great. Everything seems to be bedding in and my chatter is gone and everything feels good, just need to get to a track so I can really test the limits of this set up. Thanks again Jay, perhaps I will come up with some other odd ball mod that I will need help with and I will again come knocking once again. One thing for the people interested in the radial Tokico, as Rojo pointed out in my caliper thread, the radial caliper should be a lot easier to make and Jay should have no problem getting it perfect. Plus the bite of the pads on the caliper can be changed simply by adding or removing shims unlike the axial caliper. Oh yeah, one other thing! Not sure about it, but since the calipers are radial, the left and right side calipers would be the same right? Unlike the axial, the left and rights are different so you can not use a left on the right. I have not verified the radial lefts and rights are the same but it makes sense in my head but if so, good deals could be had, often you can but a set of radials (2 calipers) pretty cheap, since ninja only needs one, the buyer of the 2 could sell one here to another member. Just something to keep in mind to save a few extra bones!

^ahh I c
I was actually under the impression that you were making mount for the tokico radial caliper. My bad. @rojoracing53 had made a bracket to mount a radial caliper, It didn't look overly complicated. Perhaps he can chime in? his thread is here https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=120310 here is pic from his thread
