Question Quick helmet buying from overseas question

I found a great deal on the LS2 FF386 helmet I have been wanting, but it is from a website based out of the UK. This helmet is both DOT and ECE certified, but since the site is out of UK, it will more than likely only have the ECE sticker on it. From what I have have read there are some legality issue in the US if the helmet does not physically have the DOT sticker on it, even though the damn thing is DOT certified. What can I do?

Couldn't hurt to ask the seller about it, but if the cops are picky about sticker enforcement, but also kinda lazy, you could do this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-D-O-T-DOT-...a46d84&vxp=mtr

Careful though. Might be worse off if you get caught. I dunno.

Be careful with helmets, our stupid country has laws so that if it doesn't have the right sticker, the helmet is illegal to wear. Even if it's the exact same model just from overseas, if it's not got the right "safety" sticker you get stung by the cops.

You used to be able to just throw one of these on but the new stickers have a lot more info on them now

Yeah I saw that Austrailia has probably the most strict laws. Your helmets are also heavier because the manufacturers have to make the shell thicker for the penetration()test that y'all do down there.

I just looked at the Fulmer helmet that I have now and it has both the DOT and the ECE rating on the back. Plus it is not even a sticker, it is under the clear coat. No getting that off there

Indeed you can! If you can successfully conquer the penetration test you should be able to handle anything!
