bar ends....

hi another question....i pulled off the stock bar ends, what a pain that was and im left with a threaded end. From my understanding this can be removed? If so how, has anyone done this.
? Any help appreciated thanks

don't think there is anything to come off there. My memory tells me the bar is one piece and it is threaded at the end. This diagram agrees with my memory but I supposed I could still be wrong?

For some reason i thought i heard those could be removed? By the looks of the parts list you are correct sir!

They cannot be removed. How's the vibration without the bar ends? I installed non-weighted Vortex bar end sliders on my ZX-6R and the vibes were so bad that I had to put the stock bar ends back on.

If I remember when I switched to my clip-ons, I think the threaded (kind of threaded weld nut) part is welded to the handle bar.

You might be able to cut it or saw it in a way or another, but you won't be able to put them back the "OEM" way.

It's part of the bar, but you can put a bolt or plastic plug in there to cover it.

Yes it is welded, the bar is hollow though if you can get past the threads. Going to leave it the way it is. Thanks all:-)

I haven't ridden too much with them off and so far I did not notice a difference in vibration.

Not that it matters anymore lol, but drilling into the stock threads (as outlined here) makes removing the bolts soooo much easier.

If/when you choose to put a bar end back on, you should totally use an allen bolt!

I feel like if you use the right tools removing the bar ends is non issue.

I have removed 3 sets from different bikes with a good quality bit that fits well placed into a bit holder then attached to a extension for maximum torque. No heat and they twist right out.

The bit quality and fit is paramount
