For those who have no clue about what you are talking about....care to explain what it is that you do and the benefit. Maybe some data or other information, as you website in your signature has nothing about the subject.

Well I'm not really trying to advertise anything. I have all the hardware and software to do so... there's not a magic flash that will make your bike run faster but you can increase RPM's, Lower Fan On/Off temperatures, increase timing, adjust fueling, adjust secondary throttle position openings. Just offering this to anyone who may need some adjustments and not wanting to shell out $400 or so to make these adjustments.

My website is just a blog... not a business

I wish you could do the same for the 250 '08-'12european EFI models... here the programmers say it is a PITA because it is like an old ZX-6R ecu but masked... I managed to get the rev limited unlocked to +1100 rpm but the money they are asking for ignition timing and fuel are...surrealistic...besides I change settings all the time and I would have to have sone playing with that the whole time so I prefferd the (also expensive but easy to play with) PC V solution along with an autotune...

Checked out your site - You had a magazine article published about you and your 2011 ZX-10? That's awesome!

Sounds like you do some great stuff with electronics - 25 mph signal to over-ride 186mph limiter - very cool.

Just a heads up, found out this ECU can run dual maps with a simple wire ground... meaning if you wanted to run pump gas and switch over to race fuel or even E85 you can set a second fuel and timing map for that specific fuel.... So all you would have to do is flip a switch and the ECU will run the second fuel/timing map.

Pretty cool stuff!

I use this technique with the hayabusa's and run that switch to a relay for a nitrous map.

I guess you probably mean the 300 ECU...how about different mapping per gear ??

@garth285 maybe you talk to Chris (Email: cjsducati@hotmail.co.uk - Website: http://cjsracing.co.uk/news.htm and http://ecuhacking.activeboard.com/t5...-reflash-done/) from whom I think is a specialist and already got a big knowledge about the Ninja-ECU.
And when I'm right then the 250-FI should have all three worlwide different maps used already in it, so for the different market they just only change the connectors.
And as another information if you find out that your throttle should be to small maybe you look for the throttle from the Benelli BN 302, which is a 300 cc-twin with 38 mm diameter throttles.

wow Somchai !! great piece of info there !!! had no idea the Benelli had TBs that big !! but what is far more important than size for such a transplant is... distance...I mean the 300 TBs have a center to center distance of 66mm...and so do the 250's. But what about the Benelli's ?? Do you have any more info concerning that ?? Of course it is very hard to find Benelli parts anyway but who knows...

Sorry Nick, up to now I don't have any further information, except the known technical data:
Bore x Stroke is 65 x 42.5, CR = 12:1 and power is (only) 37 hp @ 11500 rpm.
The dealer here should have them since mid/end of june so the next days I' take a walk and talk (what's not an easy task here in the Land of Smiles ).
The guys here are good salesmen and do their job according to the manual but when you come with special ideas - omg (maybe that's the reason because I loose all my hair, lol in Germany that all would be no task).
When I know more I'm gonna post it.

well, seems piston block is close in size with the 250/300... it won't be easy to persuade them to start measuring stuff on brand new bikes... but it will sure be worth the effort...
you are kinda like me... always with a micrometer in hand, full of interest in combining stuff to make the most out of each engine project...am I right or what ??

I'm currently using Woolich Racing interfaces to flash my 300 ECU, but Woolich does not have Decel Fuel Cut figured out yet. Anybody have a line on that?

You would have to ask them to add it to the features but good luck, the 300's are not something they plan on spending any time on unfortunately

Would a stock bike benefit from flashing? And since it is stock is it worth the cost of doing it?

No difference from asking...
would a stock bike benefit from top-notch performance tyres ?
And since it is stock is it worth the cost ?

It all depends on owner's personal taste and budget, given the fact that one fully understands the potential and limitations of ANY kind of upgrade and one being able to take advantage of it to its full extent....

Since all new bikes depend heavy on emission laws the clear answer is: YES

Thanks for the quick reply guys. I don't plan on doing any mods to the exhaust or air intake so wasn't sure to sure if getting ECU flashed would make a difference.

Yeah theres not a ton left in there, you can advance the timing for a little more power as well as open the secondary's as well but it wont be a MAJOR difference, you can raise the rev limiter and make the fan come on sooner as well.

if you're going to turbo 300 might as well get something that can do the job, stand alone ecu.

Stand alone costs less than woolich v2 package which is useless with boost, so which means you'll need more boxes to run boost. So if you want to throw less money in the bike and be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of the curve and save yourself few years of headaches.

I've got the PC for fuel and timing, which has to be stock for one race class but I can switch it for another. So I'm on the fence with flashing. I would love to raise the rev limit and have the secondary butterflies open sooner. How much of a difference will it make?

i would love to have my Ninja 250r FI ecu flashed. Will that take out the ignition thingie which allows your bike only to start with the master key... I forget what it's called.

I can see timing and fuel changes being of benefit, especially with air filter/exhaust mods. But without head work and cams I dont see any benefit to a raised rev limit. Im already shifting under it because after 12.3-12.6 there is no more pull. The timing would be very advantageous as I know it HAS to be conservative to be able to be run on 87 octane.
