I know what you mean. When I received mine, I examined the quality of workmanship and was simply blown away. I remember thinking what a shame that all these pretty pieces were never going to be seen once they were installed and covered up with the bodywork, but the real smile comes when you fire it up and take it on that first ride.

I coudn't agree more Kelly.
I've had the pleasure of owning some top shelf exhaust systems that were pure art in terms of quallity and beauty. My favorite was the full Ti Akrapovic on my RC51. The AreaP stuff is in the same league. The bends, welds, carbon on the can, etc are all top notch. Simply awesome. I talked to Kerry on the phone before this deal came up and he was a great source of information and very easy to talk to. It was much appreciated. Thanks!

I've said it before and I will say it again... we are indeed fortunate that Kerry, owner of Area P, has taken a liking to our ninjettes and that he has become a friend of our forum as well.
To have quality products such as these, available for a "beginner's" bike, is something we should not take for granted. That he has agreed to this GB to help save our members some money, says a lot about where he comes from and his willingness to give back. He kindly sent me a copy of the installation instructions each of you should have received with your systems as a gesture of thanks for organizing this GB. Those instructions contain so much information and detail that I would venture to guess that no other manufacturer goes to such lengths to make sure you get 100% out of their product from proper setup and tuning. And if you are treated as I was, this is not the end of support you will receive if you need help with your systems. Kerry is only an email away for those customers that need help. I've thoroughly enjoyed partnering with him for this GB and am grateful of his generous offer to give something back to ninjette, if we make that magic #10. As I understand it, we are at 9 and need one more. |

That makes it all the more tempting! I want the ability to carry the occasional passenger. 99% of my riding is solo, but for that 1% it would be a pain. I wonder if i could throw something on the pipe to prevent a shoe sole from melting if I had to carry some one. Or maybe I could get a custom peg rigged up...

do what's best for you... never mind what being #10 would mean for the site. Although participating in the GB would benefit the site, I cannot recommend you purchase something that you have reservations on with regards to suitability.
And as much as I want to see ninjette receive the donation, I want more to see people on this site to be confident that this product meets their needs, first. |

I have to stop reading this thread...
If you don't get a 10th by deadline, I'll join the group buy. In my head, I'm justifying the purchase by helping Alex out for supplying such a great forum That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Also, thanks to Kelly and Kerry for providing us with this group buy Just a couple of questions though. What is the "slight" hp loss from the 12in vs 18in? Also, my bike already has a DynoJet kit installed, so what sizes are the 3 extra jets in Area P's customized kit? Thanks in advance! |

Cuong... sorry, I don't have the info with me at the moment and won't have access to it to until long after the deadline passes this evening. I hope someone else can help you with your question, but it's already pretty late except for the west coast and Hawaii.
So, are you saying you're in at this point or not? |

Yes I am in, just debating on the 12in vs 18in. I prefer the looks of the 12in, but not at the expense of significant hp loss.
I'm sure Kerry can answer the questions as well when he sets everything up. I'm going to be ordering extra larger jets for the full exhaust, so just curious on what sizes he is recommending. Yay 10! |

Mark me down for an 18" carbon fiber. I want an Area P customized jet kit as well. After much prayer and consideration (the last 5 hours) I think this muffler will be the best fit for me.

cuong,
you can get any length you want. i too like the look of a shorter can, but wanted the better performance and lower sound from a longer can. ended up in the middle at 15". |

that sounds good, but I have heard of people using even larger mains (110 and up) on Area P regular exhaust systems for the 250r. Wouldn't the increased flow of the race exhaust increase the chances of needing even larger main jets. So, my question is, on the test bike(s) using the race exhaust what mains did you end up using after getting the bike tuned in just right?

We "officially" reached the magic number of 10 committed orders. So it is with great pleasure that I make a $250 donation to Alex. A small token of my support and appreciation to this website. I think Alex has done an excellent job, along with all of you who participate.
I participate on dozens of forums in many different industries, along with being on technical boards and/or board of directors such as the S.A.E, M.I.C, and Moller Corporation/Freedom Motors (http://moller.com/. These agendas mostly relate to the future of various endeavors affecting all of us. But I truly enjoy this particular market of smaller displacement sportbikes. A lot of you will fuel the growth of the industry we love so much. And after more than 30 years in this industry, feeling like I've seen and done it all on most fronts, this is truly enjoyable to see. From everyone at Area P, and especially me personally, thank you for the interest, participation and/or purchase of our new system. And a very big shout out to Kelly Kim. Without his gracious assistance, this probably would have never happened. So Alex, where do I send the check? |

Kerry, it has always been a pleasure dealing with you in the past and assisting you on this has been no different. You, sir, are the very definition of professional, in my book. Though we've never met, I just know we will have a lot of stories to share if/when we do. $250 buys a lot of beer! Thank you for your generosity and for being a friend to Ninjette.org |

By the time I finished the first heat cycle, it was dark. It's a racebike, so no lights. But I may take it around the block a few times tomorrow; nothing crazy because I haven't rejetted it yet.
