I think i really messed up....

Last weekend i took bike apart and shimmed my washers. I also got my rims painted.I put everything back together but now im hearing liek a rattling noise and when im slowing dwn its like a grinding noise. i wish i could tape the noise while im riding. I put on stands and turned wheels and i didnt get the noise. I think i might just take to mechanic because im a lil scared!!!LOLand
Any thoughts gurus?

She "bumped" it so it would go to the top of the list so maybe someone will see it and help you out.

Did you align your wheel correctly? You should also check the amount of slack you have on your chain. Triple check that everything is assembled properly.

Most mechanics are thieves, if you have decent knowledge about bikes, you should figure out the problem on your own. It is in these moments when you really get to know your bike and learn to appreciate the bike that much more!

GL and keep us posted

is the chain too tight? n/t

could be coming from a strain on the output shaft. (sprocket)

Bearings were installed into the front rim after the painting?

Also the swingarm markings aren't very useful when aligning your rear sprocket/tire. I use a MotionPro tool, but I believe an alignment tool can me made for relatively cheap.

1/2" is too tight. The chain tenses up as the suspension moves up and down. IIRC the slack should be 1" to 1 1/4".

Swingarm markings are not reliable.
