He's got Sonoma nearby and supposedly there is going to be an indoor track being built in San Jose. The grom would probably be just as much fun if not more than a equally priced street tard. Although for $3500 you could build a cool track only sm.

@CycleCam303 Are you talking about the single track at the fairgrounds? If so I thought it was already built.

Maybe I am? Tom, supermoto USA racer, made it sound like it wasnt built yet but that was 2 months ago. He was already setting up an agreement to allow motorcycles out there and start another racing series and try to get mini road racing back together in NorCal. All these nsr and rs85 chassis guys don't have a place to race their bikes. Unless you want to race down south with m1gp

yeah but something to romp on the weekends at a kart track using the same thing to get 130 MPG on your commute to work is kinda rad. I mean I wont take it anywhere far. But just around town would be rad. I wonder if the ninja would be jelly. I think itd be a great bike for my wife to ride on too.

I've seen some videos of short track moto racing on you tube. Maybe those were just temporary tracks. There is already a motocross track on the fairgrounds, hopefully his efforts will not be met with much resistance.

O I know what you're talking about. Yea those indoor short track races are put on by the local vintage flat track associations. The track is super tiny. Lots of cool old school harley and yamaha dirt trackers and they have modern mini, 250, and 450 classes. One of our buddies an AMA expert 1000 racer went out there for a race. Totally out of his element. Supermoto is more akin to road racing than the full contact mx or flat track style. Those guys have no problem slamming into people sideways to get ahead. No flags are thrown for aggressive riding.

That is just the annual indoor event for the vintage guys. Tom is talking with some other guys to bring back a Stockton track like Elena Meyers dad had going on.

Ok so I guess I'm actually going to really be racing a grom in the 24hr in a few weeks so I see what the thing is really capable of after beating it to **** for a whole day.

The Grom looks like a blast to own, and having owned a Ruckus (and loved it) I can see where it will be successful.

Although for me, my SM'd XR100R makes alot more sense for a run around the kart track toy than a Grom. I have like $1k in it and could make it street legal for another couple hundred.

I was at a stoplight this weekend and there was a small squad of Ruckus's across the intersection from me. Along with 1 Grom. Looks really cool when compared to the older bikes, but on it's own, I'm not sure.

It looks really fun, but not $3K worth of fun.

I'd have a blast toddling around on one for an afternoon, but I can't imagine I'd actually ride it often enough to justify spending that kind of money on it.

Here's some of your competition (@Darling Ninja)!

Her team's charity link for the ride is right here. Why don't you post yours up as well?

I Want one of these bikes for throwing in the back of my truck when I am camping or for cruising the streets in the summer time lol.

It is a novel little toy . reminds me of my pit bikes and mopeds of the yesteryears .

but 3k for the grom vs 5K for an enduro or ninja300

sorta hard to justify as it is not half as useful as the ninjette

I have no use for it and I don't have that kind of money lying around. I don't really understand what it's all about either since I'm far from it's target audience. It seems like an urban commuter but in that setting I'd rather ride a bicycle.

Realistically, no. I have another bike I'd rather spend the money on.

Now if someone were to hand me one, you bet. Make some mods to turn it into a fun little dual sport that I can kick around out in the desert. Its pint sized and i look massive when sitting on it.

Lol ive been watching videos of this little Hooligan bike for a month now. I love the idea of having one but no funds for it lol. I'm still trying to get everything together for the ninjette. I think it would be a fun little toy though

It feels like the hype is a hooligan machine looking into it more. However, I can get a better hooligan machine for less in the form of a dirtbike conversion to supermoto. It would be a more comfortable height too. That said, the way they wheelie that thing in that video is pretty impressive. It's difficult to wheelie small displacement motorbikes, much easier to wheelie bicycles and higher powered machines.
