Unhappy Motor Problems...need help!

UPDATE!

Installed the Factory Pro jet kit along with the AreaP exhaust system I picked up from their shop a couple weeks ago. Seems like all of my previous motor problems are all gone after these changes! It was a pain removing the airbox, but it was definitely worth it. Working on the bike will be so much easier now.

I love this exhaust. Its like riding a whole new bike!

Take the carb apart and look at the diaphram. Let's hope you didn't rip it. Two washers should be good for stock bike.

Make sure all the carb jets are clear. There are ones called pilot jets they are in a tight tube like part of the carb . You will need a thin screwdriver to get at them. They may be clogged if it sat for a while .If they are they will need to be reamed or replaced. They sorta corrode closed. I see it a lot.

Could I spray/soak them in carb cleaner to get rid of the gunk?

depends..but best to take everything apart and clean it with a little metal wires (your main/pilot jet) and clean it with carb cleaner spraying thing. Gas nowadays has EtOh in it..if you set the tank sit a month or so, deposit will form and hell break loose..bikeshop loves you though

So I spent alot of today cleaning the jets and tinkering with the idle mixture screws and it seems like it idles much smoother now. I think two washers is a bit much, so I'm going ot try to remove one and see if that helps any.

Sounds like your idle screws aren't adjusted right for sure. Maybe even the idle speed out of whack with the idle mix adjustment too.
Try putting both the idle mixture to 2.5 turns out and see if that helps any. Then adjust idle speed. then synch, then adjust the mixture screws closer from there. Then finally synch again and adjust idle speed again. lol

Yeah I figured that out today. Im at about 2.25-2.5 turns out. Like i said a little earlier, im gonna try pulling out one of the two shims (Im getting a little backfire on decel if I rev above 5k) and adjust the idle mixtures accordingly.

Went out for a test ride, and my low end power is very low. It pulls nice and hard once I get the revs up though.
