NON-integrated Bikemonkey light?

I was on the fatbikez site today and it looks like there's a direct replacement tail light just like the BM integrated light, but without the built-in turn signals.

$72.

http://fatbikez.com/kawasaki-ninja-2...il-light-.html

Anybody know anything?

I like the idea of the BM light (longevity, brightness), but the look of turn signal stalks doesn't bother me and I have a feeling that putting turn signals essentially in the middle of the bike could confuse the cagers.

So this is interesting to me.

Is it made by the same people? It looks the same, but is it the same?

Is it exactly like the integrated light minus the yellow LEDs, or are those spaces filled with red LEDs (making for more red LEDs than the integrated light)?

yellow is vacated not sure if extra reds are added possibly. Made in the same place in Taiwan same company. As stated before bike monkey doesn't make their lights. This company in Taiwan does for them, fatbikez, and me. Same lights different markups. Buy the one from fatbikez you'll like it.

Thanks, Matt.

I knew the thing about BM not being the manufacturer... just using it as shorthand since that's how most people refer to it.

Yet another thing to add to the wish list.

Farkling is fun.

It says plug and play with no mods but would it work with the no-cut brake modulator? Might be worth it as I have the worst luck with 1157s.

nice find. I don't even bother with the integrated function anyway. Would love to have red LEDs in place of the orange ones .

It worked with my no-cut brake modulator. That said, I removed the modulator as it seemed like too many flashing lights when I had a blinker on while braking.

Hi Big Doug - welcome! Do you know if it has red LEDs in place of the yellow or if it is just empty there?

Definitely has possibilities, since VA requires the 9" separation on the rear turn signals, if they are present on the bike!

Just curious Big Doug do you buy directly from Bike Monkey? Because I don't.

Addy - they are much brighter! My hubby follows me and Paul on the BRP a fair bit, and he has commented several times on how well he can see Paul's light compared to mine. I have an LED bulb for mine, but it doesn't hold a candle to this light.

I'd love to see a side by side comparison of the integrated vs the non-integrated BM light and see which one is brighter

LED tech has only gotten good enough for super-bright LEDs in recent years, thus, not "naturally."

I'm tempted. The problem I would have is getting past the VA inspection. The inspectors are "supposed" to check the lense cover (housing) for the letters "DOT". Our OEM lights all are stamped "DOT". If they check and don't find it, no inspection sticker! Then I would have to reinstall and re-inspect within 15 days.

I'd like to find out if it's available with a smoked lens, like the integrated version. Never been big on the look of clear-lens LED lights, on bikes or cars.

Me either. Would be real nice if they carried those bottom lines across the whole lense. I would purchase one in a heart beat
