Not Unless You Collided With a Small Bird.

Also the 636 would probably feel much less bulky but still plenty fast (too fast). I've got an R6 and don't feel as comfortable maneuvering it as i do the ninja, but goddamn can it pull hard.

Im glad you know that, because when i demo'd the Ninja 1000 at americade i didnt have that mentality. It was more like, i want to get a 600 or 650, but what the hell i may as well demo the 1000 while im here. Fast forward 6 months and the Ninja 1000 is in my garage....but i did realize i have no interest in a supersport after the different demo's i did. Unless i start going to a track routinely, its too uncomfortable for me to ride on the street.

You learn to control that just on cost alone.

Gotta buy text books? Want a new Carbon Fiber road bike? new fork for your mountain bike? Track days? EFI conversion kit for your 250? Fall in love with your 250 and can't justify owning 2 bikes while still in HS or college? Bye bye super sport dreams.

A new motorcycle is what after college is for

i do also agree with the opinion that they are ugly. But beauty is subjective, i just think they look too long and stretched out in stock trim, i understand why, im just not a fan of it. I may demo one at americade this year, although i know i dont want one, i just want to see how much more power it has vs the N1k. Ill try to demo the zx-10 too to see how the 1000SS compares to my comfy ride.

LOL!
I will have to share this thread with my husband. He has a zx14 exactly like the ones in the photos in this post. He just got rid of the giant twin tanks and now has a single M4 exhaust and power commander.
Now I have a nickname for his beast: SHREK!

That's the same theory behind calling motorcyclists "organ donors", and I'm not okay with that nickname either.

Let's not go down the "too much power for the street" road in yet another thread. It's too much power for your taste as a rider. That's fine; don't buy one.

Yep, they're pretty quick:

My impressions from the Zero to Hero thing [http://galaxieman.com/?p=2045]over on my blog[/url]. The bolt-on only bikes Rickey runs at the racing school put down 216hp at the rear wheel, which is good for well into the 8's at over 150mph. There's a blue '12 at a local dealership that doesn't have ABS like the '13's but also costs $$$ less, and looks a lot better than the black or red options for this year. SWMBO would kill me, but I'm still tempted every time I walk in there...
