Saroléa has revealed the SP7, the electric racer it will be using to compete in this year’s Isle of Man TT Zero.

According to the Belgian manufacturer, the SP7 weighs 200kg and will be powered by a 130 kW (174hp) electric motor.

It has a carbon fibre chassis, carbon fibre monocoque swing arm and the electric motor will take it to a top speed of 155mph, reaching 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds. It also features regenerative braking, and is single speed with no clutch.

Robert Wilson has been signed to race the bike in the TT Zero class. The Scottish rider - who completed a 120mph lap during his rookie year at the TT in 2011 - will be going up against the likes of Team Mugen.

Mugen’s bike, the Shinden San, weighs 240kg and makes ‘only’ 100 kW (134hp) but will be ridden by TT regulars John McGuinness and teammate Bruce Anstey.

The TT Zero could well be Saroléa’s comeback after a 50 year hiatus in racing.
