The Best Protective/Armored Shorts

I am buying some of my gear a little at a time. Right now I have helmet, gauntlet gloves, knee and shin guards, and a perforated leather jacket. I am working on the boots, pants, and shorts. I think it is important to have shorts that have padding/armor to protect the thigh and the tailbone. The thing is that the ones I have seen have minimal protection for the tailbone or they have a small pad. Has anyone seen any shorts that have a lot of armor? I do not really have much "cushion" to help me with a fall so if I fall on my a**, I'm landing on just bone.

I have armored shorts from Klim. If I remember correctly, there is a piece of armor that sits on the tailbone area. There's pretty good coverage overall. It's all D3O armor too so it's super flexible.

Oh I remembered wrong. It's not D3O brand armor but it's something similar.

I was thinking about getting some sliding shorts by nike or under armor. I saw them at a sporting goods store in my area.

OP, have you looked at Bohn armor? Lots of places carry it. Get it on sale somewhere!

I have heard a lot about Bohn and it seems like they are underrated. Since you have Bohn gear, how do you think they would hold up in a crash?

They are made for impact protection, not abrasions, so keep that in mind when picking what to wear over them, Kevlar jeans, or a heavy heavy type.

I like them because I can wear them under regular pants if I'm going out for the night on the town, date, etc....

Bohn also makes different styles from a mesh, solid, or thermo shells and the armour will fit them all.

Hope this helps.

When just go out for a putz i wear my jeans when i go out to ride ride either canyon carve or im at the track i wear my aStar bionic freeride shorts.. comfy, and very strong protection and not hindering or uncomfortable

http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/a...reeride-shorts

i have a hookup at riders discount that i use. i havent seen to many of the part suppplier guys advertising on here but on 600rr.net there are several. i call them up and get **** way cheaper than retail. especially astar stuff.. i cant remember how much i paid for them but im pretty sure it was like 65 or 70. def worth it. best of all it is washer friendly. so when im done at the track, i just toss it in and out it comes smelling nice.

edit: i havent crashed in mine but my buddy has and his are still holding up fine
