Helmets with built-in speakers?

My earpods are killing me - and a bad idea anyway... I've been looking into add-on speakers but I can't find a pair without a sh*tty online review about fit and/or sound quality. Any real/firsthand recommendations on those would be great...

I'm wondering if there are helmets that come with speakers already built in. Does that exist? Couldn't find any.

Thanks

Take a look at Nolan and Schuberth Helmets if you're looking for OEM.

I have Nolan N90 with N-Com Basic Kit installed and it's ok-ish, I can plug my Phone and listen to Music/GPS. The basic kit is not powered so the volume is kind of low at speed, so there's an additional Bluetooth Module with Battery which can be installed.

Bought the N90 and the kit separate, Installation was easy enough and for my needs it's perfectly ok.

Thanks Chris. I couldn't find any Nolan or Schuberth helmets with built-ins.

Can you shoot me some links to those and the kit you're talking about?

I've just checked the Nolan Website, indeed they don't seem to offer per-installed. Maybe it's on the website, as I have a catalogue of a local Bike Equipment Dealer and they have an AD for Helmets with Kit

Anyways, this is the kit I have: http://www.nolanhelmets.com/nolan-n-com-wired.htm

Any Nolan Helmet that's listed with NCOM Property can install this Module.

Same goes for Schuberth, but their SRC seems a lot more sophisticated. As I only needed simple audio-in, the NCOM is the better solution for me.

The Bell Vortex helmets also come with an area in the padding for built in speakers but they don't come with the speakers themselves. I don't think I've seen a helmet that does but then again I've never really looked.

Got these for my Bell Vortex and they work great! As long as you have a spot for them in your helmet your good to go. They fit like a glove in mine, didn't have to use tape or anything.

Oh wow, thanks! I'll take a close look at my helmet tonight and order them soon if it looks like I have adequate room.

Those do look like a good (and inexpensive!) option. I run Autocom speakers in my helmets. Their systems are worth it if you're trying to tie together GPS + radio + ipod + radar + rider communication in an integrated system, and they really work great. The speakers and microphones you install in the helmet are top notch, with additional inputs for ambient noise sensing from within the helmet. But - it's overkill if you're just trying to connect up a single ipod or phone setup.

Thanks Alex. I'm thinking the music hook up is all I need for now. Communication will distract me too much. I probably shouldn't even have music going - but.....

Someday i'm going to get a nice setup like that but i just needed a good cheap option for my music now. And the sound quality is just as good and my apple ear buds.

Let me know if you need the diameter of the speakers or anything.

Shark helmets also have built in kits for speakers and communication. I think you have to get them separately though. Just another option...

Schuberth paired with earplugs is pretty amazing.
