Smile carb clean and shimming 86 ninja 250

hi everyone

can I shim my 250 im goanna leave it stock and how many washer..??

also I cleaned my carbs real good change my vacuum diaphragm I used one from 2000 ninja 250 great condition EVERYTHING PUT BACK TOGEATHER PROPERLY

question MY BIKE RUNS GREAT BUT SLIGHT LEAN WHILE DRIVING IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE YOUR BIKE DRIVE SLIGHT LEAN AFTER GOOD CARB CLEAN

OH I DID USE ONE WASHER TO SHIM, JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE U CAN SHIM A STOCK BIKE

Generally they all benefit from running a little richer than stock in the mid-range. 1 or 2 shims is about right.

Did you adjust the idle mixture screws? They are set lean from the factory also. If you feel it's lean at smaller throttle openings, that's what you need to adjust.

Start at 2 1/2 turns out on the screws. You can also adjust for the highest RPMs, then go just slightly richer (1/8 out or so).

Chances are the carbs need to be synced. If they are not synced no amount of adjusting will get you good results.

everything stock carbs were synch,

though someone drill out the idle mixture caps..
