Are you doing all work yourself? Do realize you won't be able to race in 250 classes any more? Well, I guess if no one protests. One guy snuck in a 600 into 250 class last year at Sears Point. That wasn't too obvious! Some related threads:

Personally I would sleeve it and use ZX6 pistons... Not sure what to do about shorter pin-height on 300 piston. Maybe make it up with thicker base-gasket.

Check out all of Bruce’s builds, they’re monsters! Don’t see why you can’t do same thing with 300 engine.

I guess Spears kit is a plug & play solution. Simpler and easier. With PC-V for tuning, you’re looking at least another +10-15 bhp. Watch out 400s!

as much as i would like a 400, might as well jump to a 600. all the goodies on my 300 wont go on the 400, so build the 300 up.
dan with the kit, compression goes up to 13 to 1, what octane gas am i looking at ?

They require a lot of maintenance, and most riders I know that raced with them, did not maintain their own bikes. I said most, not all.

I wouldn't mind some extra streetable power.
I was looking at the crazy most power ever builds where they kept breaking parts an blowing engines

Probably will be fine in the 94-95 range depending upon cam settings. A stroker motor doesn't have as gentle or as much piston dwell time at TDC, so it's more knock-sensitive than 250 engine using those same pistons. A 50/50 blend of pump-gas and 100-oct race gas should work. That's what i was using on my high-boost auto engines before moving to E85.

Did you make it to round-3 at Thunderhill? Thought I saw your son's bike at TH-West couple weeks ago before Laguna. Are you doing TH 5-mile with Z2 next weekend? With Keigwins in 2-weeks?

I say use money for upgrades on track-days instead. Personally I get more enjoyment out of it that way.

Count me in for aug25-26 w/PTT.

CVMA definitely possibility this winter. I got really rusty taking winter off. It's about 1/2way between us and in-laws in Phoenix. So would be a good stopping point in between.
