Removing the front fender

I could not find anything on this via the search function but according to very vague posts on other forums, its harder than it looks.

So could anyone tell me how to do this without take the wheel off? or do i just remove all the bolts and it comes off like the other fairings?

No pics left on this ancient thread, but it makes it seem like a piece of cake:

If you still have your reflectors you'll have to spin them off to get access to the bolts that they screw into, 10mm , I believe (one on each side). Then, there are 5mm allen bolts (one on each side). Then on the top side of the fender, just behind where the fork tubes pass by, there are two more 5mm allen bolts. Once all six of those fastners are removed, the fender should slide upa nd forward, all with out removing the front wheel. You will find when the fender is removed there is a pretty-robust brace between the fork tubes-FYI.
