Hello from Chicago!
Hey guys,
New rider here! I took the MSF course in June, got my non-running 2001 Ninja 250 on June 22nd, got it running nicely 4 days later, then officially got my new license the next day! Since then, I've put over 1000 miles on the bike  I bought it as a non-runner with 1889 miles on it...so you can tell that it has been in storage for some time. Actually, the previous owner bought the bike in September 2005 with 1350 miles on it...he barely rode 500 miles in about 3.5 years. I rode 500 miles in a less than a week... But all it needed was a carb clean and it's running beautifully. Did some other maintenance, and now this bike is what I use to commute from my house, through downtown Chicago to the south side where I work!  I love my morning commute, as there's no traffic at 5am, and my ride back is on Lake Shore Drive with traffic that isn't too bad.My MR2 is also getting a break so that's another good thing...so many good things have come out of this bike in the 3 weeks I've owned it! It's been a lot of fun... I could go on and on but I'll end it with a picture of my bike, my car, and messy garage

Thanks for the welcome! Yea I'm getting used to all the psychos riding through the loop and downtown Chicago, but many people have been pretty courteous about me. Which is rather a surprise.
Well I hope to see some locals around here and maybe cruise together sometime! |
