Dave, hope you guys had fun after we left renfest...I want to go back and see what I missed. Just make it a cooler day!

On the way back I saw another down cycle with emergency vehicles blocking an intersection, always hate to see that. Couldn't get close enough to see what kind of bike...Saw the ambulance race by me before I saw the accident scene, it wasn't going to the local hospital...bad sign! I felt like he was giving me the stink eye as he passed me, I guess that would be why...

Tofer, Kinda like Dave was saying, you might want to start your own Lansing area post and put together a ride. You might find a few people in your area. We are a little out of the area. It would be cool to take a day and have you show us a few sites, just put something together and we'll see who wants to make the trek.

Back in action

I got my bike back !! Holy smokes are they slow ... Thanks for the call Dave .. you voice mail cracked me up !! Im upset i missed the renfest but I was on set all last week and sat morning then straight up to torch lake. I wish i had my motorcycle the roads up there are tremendous.... I only had my mountian bike that I managed to tumble down boyne mountian on a trail called pauls plunge. ( yes , endo on a downhill ... i almost died but only chewed up my right leg and had about a pound of dirt in my face and helmet.)

If im in town for arts, beats and eats you guys may want to come over. (not much of a ride for me but whatever I still like to see ya guys / gals from time to time = ) ) parking will be a nightmare and the rates ive seen posted are simply retarded (15 $ at school lots)

sept 11th - my b-day and I'll be ****ed up(this much is certain) ... but not on the motorcycle.

Ill keep on watching. Take care!!!

Oh and ron, one piece of Gear you dont need on the 250, but on your pedal bike is ...

that sucks matt!

dawn and I, stopped at that subway around the corner from DQ... and of course after "lunch" we hit up DQ and i held them at gunpoint for all their Ice cream!

We had a blast @ the RENFEN 2010!
I wish you couldve been there to watch me get embearsed on stage! Remember those 2 Washing Wenches matt?

When i got back to dawn and after the 2 of us got some food and drinks, we went back over there and the 2nd show started.

This time the one wench pointed me out in the crowd of ohhhh..... 300 people and came over and pulled me onto stage! Dawn couldnt figure out my camera, so she didnt get a PIC.

Man Harvey Lake road is Boring now!!! but i'll tell ya what, i never did Lake Orion rd before! Until last night! It was pretty fun, yet NOT fun due to the darkness and extra darkened visibility my Mirror visor adds!

At night on the way home, I took a wrong turn off the round-a-bout @ Tienken/Sheldon rd.
I was turning around low speed and thanks to my HUGE tank bag and lack of 2UP low speed parking lot skills.... as i was turning around, Dawn fell off the leftside of my 250!

I saved from dumping it, but strainded my bad knee, while attempting to keep the bike upright as we wobbled around and Dawn fell off.
She fell, hitting her left knee and left side right on the concrete ground!

Hi, everyone! Hope ya all have a great Labor Day weekend

Just got home from my hair appt. (I know, right?)

Looks like Sunday is the day I would pick for Arts, Beats & Eats. Let me know if anyone wants to meet up somewhere.
Sunday starting at 5:30PM, Alexander Jonjic - great modern jazz group, then at 6:30, Jody Raffoul (he plays regularly at Andiamo) local rock star - well he is Canadian - that's sorta local, and then at 6:30 Barbara Payton - fantastic vocals, rock, blues. Does a mean Melissa Etheridge!
So POST it if you wanna meet up!!!

Then if all else fails, BBQ @ Dave and Dawn's!!!
(I'm thinking we can stalk them until we find their house...)

See ya!

That makes me want to upgrade! But I refuse to finance a toy, because I got in trouble with that once...and I still have to replace my Windows and Roof asap...Ugh!

Plus buying all the little mods again will nickle and dime me to death...

Hows it sound?

HI matt!

You dont need to get mods for it right away, unless your gonna 2UP alot, then a musthave are the passenger grab handles (they come stock on all ER-6n), yet fit 09,10,11 650Rs!

Oh and STOMPGRIP.... grab bars and stompgrip... followed by maybe a Corbin seat... but dawn and i have to put 12,000 miles on this bike to see if the stock seat is ok or sucks.

Sound?

My aunt and uncle could hear me coming down their street before i pulled into their driveway!
It is a 649cc parellel twin, like the 250, just abit louder, deeper!!!

I would say its like 5/8th or 3/4 of GROWLY, like Carols two-brothers exhaust.
If you put a two-brother slip on thsi 650 would be 50% louder than Carols!

Yo if THURS is nice, warm, NOT WINDY LIKE TODAY... ill come ride over to your house and you can check it out!.... oh wait... I bowl thursday!!!

ummm then FRIDAY ill come over, if its nice out! Then you can follow us to gibraltar for more Raffle chances! :P

Only BAD thing i hate about it so far is...
- At different RPMs, the Mirrors shake waaaay too much I CANNOT SEE **** BEHIND ME!!!

One GREAT thing (two) about it so far is... (vs 250R)
- The headlights give waay more light and spread out further and cover more road at night!
- stock seating is 2-3 better than the 250's stock seat!

Hey, Dave.

About those shaky mirrors - on a bike like that 650, what is behind you doesn't matter
Can't wait to see it.... Are you riding it to the MCB dinner tonight?

The stock 650 mirrors kinda have the same issues as the 250's does. I just cant get them to see behind me good enuff, yet offer good sideview coverage too!

I suppose i could put on the sw-tech mirror extenders off my 250 just to see if those would help, before or (IF) i buy another pair for the 650.

Im gearing up to go for a solo ride!!! i should be back around in time for MC beemer dinner! I dont think ill have dawn ride on the back yet, more so since its windy out and im still getting use to the bike!

Michigan in the UP* tour 2010!

Hi guys,

Carol and I have talked about doing a 2 day weekend UP* trip sometime in Oct. 2010!

Nothing is set right now, as shes got trips and plans with the BMW groups Sept-Oct, BUT we talked about the 3 of us doing the UP trip next month!

Just throwing the idea around and all that stuff. So PLEASE if anyone would like to join us for this 2 day trip. (gotta be one of the weekends in Oct.) POST up here or PM sugarbear or I with what weekend works best for you, etc, then we'll see about making this happen!

Basically it will be like this, time wise, People get home from WORK on their Friday, take care of your usual things, get yourselves ready.

We will ride and met up at one or afew spots, gathering riders as we make our way North.
(unless its gonna be the normal ASG, then we all will meet in ONE spot, then Ride out)

Once we are up in the UP*, or near the Mac-bridge, depending on what time it is and how everyone is doing, we will Spend the Night @ a hotel/motel <--- a good one we hope*.
Morning breaks, well gather up for Breakfast, then ride out for the UP, or around the UP.

Spend another night (Sat-night) @ a hotel/motel and get some sleep.

Sunday morning, breakfast, then any last min Pics and stuff... then the long journey home... all highway at least 80 MPH!!!

Be in your own bed by Late Sunday night, Safe and Sound!

Hey, guys & girls.

Now that summer has come to an end and cooler weather is upon us...

How about a local run up to the cider mill? Maybe this weekend!
Or head up to the Haunted House, Erebus in Pontiac for some Halloween pranks and/or fright? Could be an adventure

Gonna have to squeeze in a little fun between now and when the snow comes and our lil Ninjas go into hibernation

Sorry, Dave,

Just got home and saw the email Already put the BMW in for the night. Dang, it gets dark too early already.

Tomorrow looks like lots of rain, but how about Sunday for the cider/donut run?
I'll give you and Dawn a call early Sunday afternoon and see what's up.

Oh yeah, I got the 7500 mile service done. Changed the spark plugs, oil, filter, valve clearances, carb sync, chain adjustment. (Runs great!) Lucky I had the prepaid maintenance! Total cost $475.00. Almost as much as the BMW service. I need a less expensive hobby

+add ($510-ish for Vulcan 900) Total= (Est.) $910 Vulcan
+add ($630-ish for CBR600RR) Total= (Est.) $1,030 CBR600

See ya up there!

Hey, guys.

Good luck on that raffle. I was hoping to make it up to Gibraltar tonight, but I've had a horrible cold for over a week. Just not up to socializing just yet
Sucks when it's this nice outside and I feel like crap.

Well, have fun. Hope one of you wins that CBR!

10-24-2010 - Halloween in Royal Oak!

Well, due to the crappy Rain SAT. we never went out to Ubly Raceway!

Today though, Dawn and I joined up with members from RSB for their Annual "Royal Oak Halloween Costume Ride".

We didnt dress up, cause we Dont have Extra costumes to wear over our Gear/Helms! I just wore my moto-gear and wore my Cold Killers Bacalva, on my head...while standing next to my "Ninja". So, you could say i was a "Ninja", as far as being dressed up as something...

Only 5-6 Members showed up, but it was quite a Nice Day out!

We ran outta Candy in like 15-20 mins.

So many parents and kids going around to "Trick or Treat". It was Crazy!

Heres afew Pics...

Well, this riding season for 2010 is DONE!!!

Next spring March-April I hope to see you guys Again and meet with the others here I didnt get to!

Over the Winter and into Spring, I will be trying to Sell my 250R.
I cant afford two bikes and I'am in Need of the money for various reasons!

Dont think for a minute, that once my 250R is sold, that i'll be "Too Good" to hang out, ride, meet with other 250R riders. We will still do rides, events, etc!

Just keep Eachother up to date with what events or things are going on that ***YOU GUYs*** want to do and see others join!!! Im a member of Two different Biker clubs and also post on their Fourms. So, this means, you others Need to use this Fourm/Thread, posting events, trips, that You People would like to do.

I'am Not always going to know what events are going on, etc, so its up to YOU, to add updates and info about what you know about.

Example: Dawn and I, for Next years "Blessing of the Bikes" in May 2011.

We are going to attend the Blessing of the Bikes out in Baldwin, Mi.
(200 miles from our house, Nice Long Ride!)

Matt, Carol, Ron, you guys ROCK! Please keep in touch over the Winter.

Carol - Dawn and I will figure out something Fun for the 3 of us to do. BBQ @ Carols Hot-tub!!!
I just cant hang with your Cats! Achoo-ACHOO!

Matt - Im sure we'll speak almost Daily, due to WoW over the Winter!!
(first PC upgrade is that much needed HD)

Ron - You'll have to let us know whats going on, when you have free time! Money is tight as hell this year, vs last year for Me. So going out to a Bar near your house with you and the Miss, wont be likely. We can figure something Fun out though.

TTYL!!!

Well... season wasnt over quite yet!

I took Nate out for a spin yesterday.

Put on 106 miles more, then changed the Oil and Filter! During the ride, i added Sta-Bil to the fuel and topped off the tank once i was home.

All thats left now (when its another 50F day), is to pull off the side plastics and give the undercareage/frame/engine, a good cleaning and wash the rest of the bike. Lube the chain/clutch cable, pull out the battery (store it inside the house), cover Nate up and off to Sleep he goes...

Until next spring. hopefully ill be able to sell him quickly (need the money to get a descent Truck, my Car is a POS and falling apart fast), also save some of that money to do One Trackday on my New 650R

Winter Jam. 2011!

Hi guys!

Im just dropping by to let everyone know im still here!

This has been a Bad Winter this year so far, for me!

My Dad passed away Nov. 27th, 2010!

We all had Thanksgiving together and he seemed just fine!

He died in his sleep, doctors were certain it was a Heart Attack.

Im doing ok i guess, i mean, how do you define that?

I have my days and moments.

Well, being Laid Off still, my days are long and boring. With whats happened this year, it makes things harder!

Money, Winter weather, limits me to staying inside.

I still Bowl on my Mens Thursday League @ Kingswood, if anyone wants to come up there and have a Beer, let me know! After Bowlings over, we can hang in the Bar and shoot the crap, Kick some Tires, etc!
Our Teams not doing good this year, nor am I bowling good. I avg. a 215 Last Season, but this year im DOWN to an 190 avg.

My Ninja 250R is still for Sale and Will be the whole Spring until its Sold!
$3,000 Cash! I have a Thread up on these forums!

As Rage42, knows, Ive been playing WoW (World of Warcraft) for this Winter, sadly, thats my main form of entertainment for now!

I know, Nerd alert, but Video games are Fun, been so since NES was around and i got mine in 1987.

Thats basically what Im up too!

As far as Rides Spring/Summer goes...

Dawn and I, Plan on Going to the BALDWIN, MICH. "Blessing of Bikes"
(215 miles from our house) ... this year in May!

Oh, RON, Mr. movie star!!!

I told my Aunt about you and your movie experience with Hugh jackman. Did you know that they are shooting the NEW BATMAN movie here in Detroit???

***If you know something about it, please could you get an Autograph from Christian Bale???

Well ttyl,

-Dave

My condolences again about your dad. It was a shock after seeing him when he helped you pick your bike up.

I never finished fully winterizing the bike. Good Enough though. I think I'll be draining the gas tank this time around, I'd rather not have to clean the carbs if I don't have to.

I think I'm done with WoW again. I hate dealing, and relying on other people to have fun in a game, and raids are the fun part. Bring on Diablo 3!

Hey all,

I'm signing up for the Advanced Riders course at Schoolcraft College in Livonia. If anyone wants to join me, it will be on 4/17. It costs $25.

Sign up is here: http://schoolcraft.edu/cepd/registration.asp

It should be fun, and a cheap way to practice drills and be critiqued by someone.

Here's the class description...

"Take advantage of this one-day course that enhances a rider's basic skills and helps with personal risk assessment. Experience a fast-paced classroom segment with several interactive activities to improve perception and hazard awareness, followed by range exercises which enhance both basic skills and crash avoidance skills. Learn to improve braking and corner finesse. The course is beneficial for riders of any type of street motorcycle. You must furnish your own cycle and protective gear. You must provide proof of cycle endorsement, cycle insurance, and the motorcycle must pass a safety inspection. A one hour lunch is not included in the CEU total."
