Tire question
I have a 2003 Kawasaki Ninja 250r. Not too long ago I bought a brand new tire from a guy for $30. Its a Shinko 110/80/16. I read online that a 110/90/16 was going to cause clearance problems with the front fender. Will this be ok or will it have the same problems? the guy told me it will fit like the OEM tire.

Is the tire an OEM size? If it's larger, then chances are that it could rub. Compare it to the OEM size. If it's larger try putting it on and pray you get lucky. If you don't get lucky then come up with a way to fix it.

yes 110/90 will have issues.
http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Size_110/90-16_tires stock tires are 100/80/16. I got 100/90/16 on my bike.

110/90 are 99mm height
110/80 are 88mm height 11mm difference or .43inches so might fit right. its a little shorter of a tire

you have almost half inch of play compared to the 110/90 so you should be ok.

Ok thanks. I need a front tire already and I bought that from the guy, he told me it was going to fit good. I have a new rear tire so I should be ok.

**UPDATE**
So I been too lazy and I finally decided to take the wheel out. They look about the same height but there is a width difference. There is four nuts inside the fender that rubbed in the tire when I try to test fit it. Tomorrow I'm going to take it to a shop and put in the rim. Pics |

What's wrong with the old tire?
Put that fatty on the rear.

110 is the maximum sidewall width in mm when mounted on the design spec rim width. 80 is the percentage the height from the bead to tread is compared to the width. For instance, your tire is 110mm wide, and the height of the tire from the bead to the tread is 110mm x 80% = 88mm. A 110 mm tire is 10mm wider than the stock 100mm, and 10mm is a hair over 3/8", so I'm not surprised it rubs the fender mounting bolts.

That steel bracket also functions as a fork brace.
