What do we think of Emgo Shorty slip-ons?

I regularly see them on eBay for $50 for a pair of them, but I'm curious if anyone has any experience with them.

I've watched videos to see how they sound, and they sound pretty bad-ass. It would go perfectly with the streetfighter/rat bike aesthetic that I'm going for with my Ninja 250.

This video is my inspiration. I'm not quite sure if the mufflers in the video are Emgo Shortys, but they look very similar.

Looks good to me, I'd mount them straighter back instead of angled down though

Shorty GP is similar for the same price.
Different angle, but it's on a newgen so who knows how it'll hang on pregen.

I think they're angled like that because the stock pipe is angled slightly outward at the joint where the old muffler attached to, if that makes sense.

That makes sense, personally I'd be tweaking the pipes

Meh, I don't mind it, especially if it required modifying the pipes--wouldn't want to bother doing that, personally.

So I got around to installing these and holy **** they're loud. Probably not quite Harley loud, but certainly not subtle. Even with earplugs they're pretty loud.

Not sure if I'll stick with them--I mean, they're way better than the stock mufflers, which make the Ninja 250 sound like a glorified moped at best, but the new shorties will take some getting used to. Also can't really go back to the stock mufflers since I had to cut off the pipe section from the muffler (per the BCB install video), but I also don't want to spend a lot of money on aftermarket (hence why I got the Emgo Shorties at $25 a pop).

EDIT: Here's a quick video sample of how they sound. I was so afraid of going over 7k rpms because they were soooo much louder than I was used to with the stock mufflers.

And I thought stock pregen mufflers sounded really nicely quiet.

I personally was never fond of the sound nor the look of the stock mufflers

I've been considering getting the trumpet mufflers that BCB sells. They're essentially just modified Emgo mufflers that have way better baffling, but at $200, even that's a bit more than I want to spend.

I had a set on my Bonneville once upon a time. Almost as loud and as little back pressure as running open pipes. If you granny shift in residential areas, you probably won't piss anybody off. Once you get into the power band, it'll be loud though. You'll need earplugs.

I wear them anyway, but yeah. Without earplugs I can't even imagine how I would be able to stand it. Just the vibrations that make their way up to my head are loud, and earplugs can't do a damn thing about that.
