I'm not so much a fan of all the little bits and bobs (but hey, not my bike, not my business!), but I cannot get over how much I love that paint.

The fact that you see something often shouldn't impair your ability to understand my question lol.

He seems open about this project, why not about the purpose? You seem awfully defensive about someone else's project. And besides, as I said, I'm not implying that there's anything wrong about it, i'm asking out of curiosity.

I'm not implying anything at all, I'm sure you have a reason, but i'm curious.
Hi Andrew,

To answer your question about why I wasted my money on a 300 instead of wasting it on a ZX is.... First off, any extra money you spend on a bike, car, bicycle, r/c car is still a waste of money anyway you look at it. I have all of the above toys and they are all fixed up. It doesn't matter was it is, if it has wheels and aftermarket parts then count me in. I enjoy doing these things as one of my hobbies. Yes, I could have bought the 2013 ZX-10R that I test drove and fixed it up, but I choose a 300 instead, why, because its my money. Its not like it going to be my last bike. I am currently looking at a BMW S1000 and when I decide to get it I will send to you pictures after I fix it up so you can more relate.

Well said David. That kinda sums up how a lot of us treat our ninjettes (and cars, and bicycles, and computers, and phones, etc etc), myself included.

Ride it, love it, make it what you want with a budget you can swallow, and enjoy it for the time you own it.

I don't think it's a waste man. See what I wrote above lol. I bought the 300 because i think it's a killer deal and great bike. You don't need to defend that with me.

To me, I think it's a good idea just so that you don't have to pay the insurance for a supersport. If I upgrade my 300 to my taste, i get the tailored bike and I still only pay $300/yr insurance. If I buy a zx6r, i'm paying over $1k. I could also see making a point for getting the 300 track ready for less (total). There's several reasons, I was curious what yours was.

Sorry you felt like you had to defend you point. That wasn't my intention.

Mmmmm now you bring up a good point; get a 300, deck it out with go fast bits and suspension bits, skip the farkles, strip as much weight as possible, and you'll have a pretty fun little track bike without paying as much as a supersport, and you'll pay less for tires.

And I love me my 250 at the track

I also loved my 250 on the track........then I rode the 300 on the track. I was able to part with my 250 with little hesitation. It helped that my 250 was going to another racer who planned on putting right back on the grid. Thus adding to the MRA 250 grid. The 300 on the track is like riding a 250 with the addition of a slipper clutch, instant throttle response, ~10 more hp, and a stiffer chassis.

Its all good By the way, I pay $1000 a year for my 300 because I have 100 deductibles for both comp and collision then have $14000 in accessories coverage. Doesn't bother me to be fully covered.

Sounds like all good things to me! I'm still a noob to track riding (just considering taking a stab at the Intermediate group, just figured how to get a knee down and make consistent lines through turns) so I'm not at the level to really need those things, but I'm sure I can appreciate a little more oomph!

Are you allowed to race your 300 in the same grid as the 250's? If so, do they place any handicaps on you, etc?

We're in the same race with the 250's and the CBR 500's we're just scored separately. We have 250, 400 and 500cc Production Classes.

What happens when you mix a awesome Area P exhaust with a Yoshimura?

You get this....

By the way, it sounds super bad ass.

Love the way your bike's turned out... The rim stripes really take the edge off the white rims and makes it fit in so much better... Good job

Update on the Area P full exhaust

It has been brought to my attention that people have been already contacting Area P about the modifications that I have made to my exhaust. Please do not contact them regarding my change to the exhaust. They will not be offering the head pipe assembly by itself. I took the muffler off my Ninja 300 and put it on my Ninja 250R which has a Area P Mid-High Mount system. When I bought the Area P full system it was with the 18" quiet core so now I can switch back and forth between the two cans. Area P makes amazing systems and are only sold as a full system.

Thank you for understanding.
