I'm so torn on boots!

So I've narrowed my search down to two boots, The Sidi Vertigo and the Sidi Cobra boots.

I love the white version of the cobra. But the features look a little better on the Vertigo. Has anyone had experience with either of them? I'll be using them for street use if that helps

i own the vertigo's
they are awesome
not so comfy to stand in for extended periods of time

i dont even use the dial thingie because i have small calves
i have them on the tightest setting and just use the zipper to put them on/off

the cobra is basically the same thing
but for $50 extra, you get an slightly bigger back-of-leg protection and dial-in adjustability -> mainly used for when you tuck in the pant leg inside the boot

cobra is commuting
vertigo is entry lvl track riding

Have you tried these boots on before? They are kinda roomy in the toes area if you have narrow feet. I'd highly suggest trying on the boots before you commit. I sold my vertigos to pick up A* SMX plus because you cant beat that comfort fit it has.

weird....i traded in my smx plus for vertigo's

a* was just to cumbersome to wear because of the inner bootie and (speed) laces

it literally took more time to put on 1 a* boot than it did to put on both vertigo's

Can't go wrong with Sidi - I have the Vortice Air. I have no complaints, other than the price.

The rubber soles of the Sidi boots wear very quick if you walk in them.

I have the vertigo's no complaints at all, awesome boot. Like two other people have mentioned they are not very comfortable to walk around in and the sole will wear out quickly if you do. I think you would be happy with either boot. If possible I would try them on at a store before purchasing. I don't think you can go wrong with either pair.

I have the sidi cobra and fusions. I haven't ridden in the cobras yet they are comfortable but not easily walked in do to the thin heel sidi uses on their boots. I am waiting on some alpinestars smx-r boots so I can compare the two. Although at that price point I should be comparing the vertigos. Ankle stability is good in the cobras but the vertigos will be better.

Depending on how hot/humid it gets there, you may want to look into getting perforated boots. Sidi no longer makes Vertigo Air boots, instead replacing them with their ST Air boots, about 90$ more expensive.

Here in SouthArk/NorLA heat is regularly in the 90s and humidity hovers around 70% +/-20%. I tried Sidi vertigo boots(non-perf) and they were too hot, so hot it was unconfortable while riding. I returned them and bought some Sidi ST Air boots and the airflow is pretty remarkable. I don't worry about my feet getting hot, and the protection/fit is better than the vertigo.

I'd call to make sure they're in stock before placing an order. I called 4 different vendors, all telling me they were on indefinite backorder or discontinued. The people I got my ST Air boots from offered them to me for $325, pretty sweet.

Honestly, just kept calling around asking if their websites were correct that vertigo-airs were in stock. They all came back with no's. I called extreme supply, and the sales guy hooked me up after I asked about the vertigo air's. He didn't give me a choice of color(black or black), but they were brand spankin new. Free shipping too if I remember correctly.

http://www.extremesupply.com/

I love the ST Air, as 9.5 Vertigoes were just a pinch too big for my calf size at the tightest setting(and they don't make a 9.0). The ST Air's buckle system allows for a much greater range of adjustability, similar to a ski-boot, and I can get it tight enough to cut off circulation to my feet if I wanted to.

Great thing about Sidi is you can resole the boots by ordering the sole. A*s, it's possible but i hear it's a pain in a but to do.

Do the Vertigo or Cobra models have replaceable soles?

Sidi's web site doesn't list those two models as having replaceable soles. The vortice boots do. I realize that most any boot can be resoled by a pro, but the vortice soles are made so that they can be replaced by the typical end user. The others require a bootsmith.
