To the driver of the ford truck with the missing left mirror

To the driver of the ford truck with the missing left mirror. Now I had a feeling while waiting next to you for our double lane left hand turn that there was a 87% chance you would run the corner wide and take my lane because your not aware you have mirrors for checking your surrounding. But don't worry I was prepared and in no way surprised by your ignorance

Just consider my friendly gesture of removing your left mirror and allowing you to then run it over, my way of improving you fuel economy with reduced air drag. I would have removed your right mirror since your clearly in no need of it but it was inaccessible at the time but I figured if you weren't using your right then you probably don't use you left as well so it's just as good.

You should really count yourself luck you came across a rider as experienced as I who could predict your maneuver ahead of time and gracious enough to do you the favor of saving you money in the long run. Feel free to display more of your incredible driving skills next time I'm around and I'll graciously remove your other mirror at no extra charge.

-----------------------------------------------------

Yes I over reacted but don't worry I wasn't angry at all just disappointed because there are so many other riders who would have slammed on the brakes and lowsided or worse steered right to quickly fined the curb to greet them. It's rare for anything to surprise me on the street but that doesn't mean I don't come across the same **** you guys nearly avoid or crash because of everyday.

Yes this guy will hate motorcyclist more then ever but that's something I'm willing to accept. In the 2% chance they learn from this encounter and take away a valuable lesson in the use of external vehicular support apparatuses(mirrors for those who can't keep up) then I count that as a bonus.

Which side of the truck were you on? If on the left, steering right would find the tuck not the curb. Sorry, I am the one who can't keep up.

Jason, I'm glad you anticipated the problem and avoided a collision. Its frustrating that some people can be so clueless and dangerous behind the wheel.

I was in the right lane of a double left so he would have pinched me into the curb. I knew it was coming so as soon as his right front wheel hit the dotted white line I was on the horn. The incent was very similar to my Toyotas no likey the Ninjette thread except they just came all the way over. Then must have seen me change to the left lane behind them because my lights are bright so I think they were hesitating. So while they were doing like 20 I accalerated to like 35 pulled the clutch in and proceeded to knock it outa the park then we carried on with our business. I think they were dumbstuck because they have no chase

Sorry I never run my GoPro's for reason I'd rather not get into now.

And no I wasn't angry, I have a very odd set of personalities that I choose for give moments. When the mini van pull right up to my ass while cycling on wed this week and proceed to lay on the horn because I was taking up 1 of 3 lanes available, then I get angry. But don't worry they were kind enough to soon after pull into a parking lot and now they need a paint job.

This incident was more of the vindictive nature with a smile type of thing, very calm and collected to ascertain necessary escape route should things turn ugly.

We'll just say you don't want to do stupid **** that could kill my fellow two wheeled brethren right in front of me on certain days. Because wether I snap and get angry, or stay calm and devise the best corse of action to take you can bet your going to realize you did just do something I don't approve upon. But most other times like the Toyota video and so many others I will simply shrug my shoulders in disappointment and continue on with my life.

If someone local has one of those little 808 key chain camera and will let me test it for a day then maybe I buy a couple and let you guy see all the shenanigans next time.

A vehicle Crossing the mini skips can be real dangerous...

It puts you in a pocket where all your escape routes depend on
other people paying attention and using space thats diminishing by the second.
Not a good situation to be in at all...

Thanks for making stupid hurt, even if a little.

It may be because in your situation it became a drawn out deal with two people acting like children

Where in this case judgement was swift and well executed like a boss plus there's the fact that everyone knows I could give a crap about there own personal opinion if it's not the same as mine

but the day is still young I'm sure someone will step up and take a shot later

if my throttle was on the left then I could have but the irony of them running it over after it hit the ground was much more satisfying me thinks.

Good form.

Similar thing happened to me recently except I didn't go hulk smash on their car. Instead I flipped up my visor and did my best impression of the old man "get the f off my lawn!" face as I rode past the moron.

I try to take the inside lane on double lefts now where possible.

While borrowing my dads new 370Z to drive across town I came across two double lane lefts. I chose the inside lane both times and both times the driver on the outside tried to cut over into my lane( they were over like 6') At least the Z has a loud horn so they quickly corrected they're line.

This was the same day but earlier so I'm going to chalk it up to not my day for double lane lefts

^^ saw the same thing with traffic on Rt 800 today. People always turn in too early, end up having to either a) go wide at exit and turn really tight to compensate or b) continue on towards the inside and cross whatever line they're next to. Most choose to cross the inside line

Seems like you've discovered the same thing I have.

Around here, I almost always see a cager making a left too wide and drifting to the next lane on the right. It's not often I see someone taking the outside turn lane cut over to the left. The other reason I prefer the inside lane is usually your bike is quicker off the line than the car beside you and the inside lane gives you shorter travel. Usually I finish my turn well before the car. The other reason is right turning cagers on red where an idiot can also swing in too wide. Lane choice is all dependent on the situation though.

While I don't necessarily condone the extreme display of anger towards the cagers who are obviously incompetent while behind the wheel I would have loved to see this.

This always happens around here! If I'm first in line I just blow all the slow cagers away, otherwise I just put put are their "special" pace and follow the lines they're all turning in so I don't get hit though lol. Around here it's hard to tell where exactly you should be though because the turn lines are all worn away

But officer when the driver began to cross into my lane I put my hand out in the universal stop hand sign to motion to the driver to stop their advance into my lane. But with their continued advance into my space my hand accidentally contacted their divers side mirror and to my extreme surprise it quite easily broke off and was then run over by the drivers own tire. I'm thinking if they had been more wise in their original purchase and had not chosen such a POS and instead bought a quality import his mirror wouldn't have come off so officer am I ok to go

my brother in law has had 3 of his mirrors removed by motorcyclists. he always says he was not doing anything wrong. i giggle inside a little bit each time because i know he was most likely about to run someone over. people who drive big trucks think they don't have to pay attention to anything because they are big and tough. cry about your mirrors s'more!

i stopped caring about people's perceptions of motorcyclists. some people try to block me. others swerve or throw **** at me. the smart ones ignore me. doesn't matter to me, i go around them all.
