What spark plugs...
is everyone using on their bikes? I figured I would change mine to a fresh set before I start to tune it after all its changes.

The spark plugs that can be used on the 250 is either the NGK CR8E or the Nippon Denso U24ESR-N
Do not purchase the NGK #CR8HSA or Nippon Denso #U24FSR-U as listed on the wiki as that is reffering to the pre-2008 models. You can use a 16mm plug wrench, or the wrench included in the tool kit; torque specs of 115 lb. Here's a helpful video of how it's done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3POFTC_i_N4 |

Unless you want your spark plug ***really*** tight.
(safety tip: don't do this. )

You can also use the Iridium version of the NGK plug (NGK CR8EIX)...IX = iridium.
I am currently using them in my bike....iridium plugs last longer but that's about the only difference. Also heard of people using NGK CR7E plugs, difference is heat range - with NGK the higher the number the colder the plug. If I remeber correctly people using those plugs were using them in winter etc.... If you don't have a torque wrench, tight as you can with your hand then 1/4 of a turn with the ratchet. |
