Carbureted bikes suck... except

on cold mornings when the sun has warmed the road...

I love the ease of electronic fuel injection. It's constant, easy, always there... kinda like a spouse...

Carburetion is touchy, cranky, a black magic more then science really... but much like that naughty thing you took home at Mardi Gras ... when it's working right, oh mama it will straighten your arms... and other things, if you are lucky.

50'f mornings, you know the snow is about to fly, but you just don't give a damn.

The KLR did great going from 300 feet all the way up to 13,000 feet with it's stock jetted, shimmed needle carb.

Look at the bright side: cranky carbs in the morning remind you there may be cold, slick roads!

yeah, but when those carbs are working right, that cold dense air means she is CHOMPI'N at the bit. Max horse power when the tires want to stick the least.

I suppose if I wanted to be safe, I'd drive a cage. Just feels like a wicked different bike when the air is 50'F, instead of 78'F
