Adjustable brake/clutch levers

Has anyone installed the eBay ($25) levers on their 300 yet? Your opinions of them? I'm particularly interested in the short version.

Are they the same quality as the 250 levers?

Why shorty brake and regular length clutch? Just curious.

Also, would levers made for non ABS work with ABS version? I'm on eBay and it only lists non ABS. When I select ABS as a submodel, it states that the levers are incompatible???? But I thought a lever is a lever. Should have nothing to do with ABS or non ABS. It just needs to pull a damn wire, no?!

there is no difference between ABS and non ABS levers, it's a sales gimmick

I like to 2finger brake and use all of my fingers on the clutch when downshifting. Shorty levers are just barely too short to be comfortable with a 3rd finger when I'm wearing my gauntlet gloves and regular length is too long to be comfortable with 2 finger braking if I pull it in all the way (i.e. it hits my ring/pinky)

same reason one would need spare handlebars, also chris is right you shouldn't crash at a track day though it is always possible you shouldn't be riding more than 75-80% of your capability on a track day while racing you use everything you have.

I was hoping to do a track day to explore my limits (or to slowly and progressively increase them) so those skills will xfer over to the streets if I ever get myself in a "oh sh!t" situation where I have to lean harder to get through a corner.

Now I realize there's a difference between a track day vs racing at the track. Thx again!

True, but! Part of the learning process involves crashing. Unfortunately, you can't learn to be smooth and fast over night. Otherwise, we'd have MORE 'mericans in the MotoGP .... jus' sayin'

Besides, there's a sayin'; if you're not crashing, you're not going fast enough ........ or you're doing it all wrong ..... lol

there are a few who don't crash and still learn. The only reason I did was because I was riding to hard to early.

This doesn't have to be true unless you believe it to be that way. You should try to find a track day event that has real quality coaches vs. a bunch of CR's.

I have ridden dry tracks, wet tracks, fast tracks, slow technical tracks, dirty tracks, extremely bumpy tracks, crowded tracks, tracks covered in frost, tracks covered in car rubber, during 55mph crosswinds, in the remains of a hurricane... yes I said hurricane , ect... ect... so on, and so forth... All with 0 crashes. I have crashed yes, while racing and riding at my 100% and beyond. I have helped 30+ riders (many of them members of this forum) through their first track day with 0 crashes.

I do believe... at some point, if one rides on the track enough, chances are they will eventually go down. BUT... it is NOT part of the learning process, it is a failure of the learning process. It's an ERROR in judgment and to err is human. If you're riding a track day and crashed, you have learned nothing but how to scare the crap outta yourself in that moment in time.

Back on topic
Did anyone confirm if the ebay levers work on the 300? If so, then it would be a very cheap way to fine tune the ergos of the bike for street or track use. How about the ebay adjustable & foldable version?

Yes. They do fit. The price is now $36 shopped (and worth every penny IMHO). The eBay seller updated his page to show the levers that is a perfect fit for the 300.

Are these similar to the levers you mentioned?

http://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Alu...nc+short+lever

And does anyone know if they'd be compatible with a 2014? I don't imagine there's any real difference between the 2013 and 2014 that would cause them to not work. I'm looking to swap out because I have smaller hands and could really benefit from the adjustable aspect..

I bought the $20 CNC shorty levers off ebay from elfrhino. They were shipped from Cali last Tuesday and I got them Thursday and I live on the east coast. Easy to put on and of good quality, I am very happy with them.
