what's your worst gas mileage?

Since people boast about their best mileage. What's your worst? I'm just curious because I do a lot of city riding, stop and go's and short trips. Yesterday my bike went starving at 129miles and had to flip to reserve. I calculated the gas mileage to 33mpg. So what is it?

I've gotten it down into the mid-30's a number of times on both our pre-gen and our new-gen.

45 was the lowest I've got and that was after a full day of riding the bike hard.

Make sure that when you fill up you are actually filling it up.

Under 30... I kid you not. I estimate about 27MPG, but I needed a little fuel to make it to a gas station so I can't be sure. Basically, I ran dry at 117 miles.

When I am going for a long ride I fill it all the way up to the neck.

Right.. I was talkin to the OP though... when I first got my bike I thought I was filling it up all the way.. but wasnt.. was getting like 130 miles to the tank.. then learned to fill it up to the top and now get 190ish without reserve.

yup all the way up to the neck on its centerstand. I think something weird is going on now that I read about other people's mpg. I don't ride that hard at all. More than half the time of riding I keep the rpm below 8k before shifting. I guess it's all the stopping and going and short commute to school and back.

I am far too lazy to calculate MPG. I just go by range. I generally get at least 200 miles before reserve. Best before reserve was 245, but that was mostly due to the recent drop in temperature that has led to bike running leaner. Plus I don't wring it out to 10k+ RPM that often anymore. I generally get between 200-210 to a tank in the summer, was getting 220 in then fall, and now I just got 245 in the southern california cold snap we've got going on.

Worst fill-up: 40.39 MPG (75 to 80 MPH Interstate travel climbing into the high Southern California desert with a 20 to 30 MPH side winds). Best fill-up: 79.6 MPG (Mena, Arkansas to New Boston, Texas riding at a steady 60 MPH with a group of fellow CMA riders on a calm, cool fall evening).

Lowest I have ever recorded on any of my 250's was 39mpg. That was all fast track day riding.

In June at Maxton I made a record 22 passes.it is a one mile track plus the shut down and return road. That is about 45 miles . I went through 3.5 gallons of race gas at 12 dollars a gallon.

I've gotten down into the mid-fifties but that was with full Nelson-Rigg saddle/tail bags cruising at 80+ with the stock 14T front sprocket on my '06. With the new 15T, no saddlebags, and in-town mostly highway speeds of 60-70 I'm getting in the mid to high 60's.
