Hey all

Thought I'd introduce myself before posting around on here.

Name is Evan, 33 yrs old, linving in Clovis, NM. I've been riding dirt bikes since I was a kid and finally got my first street bike last Septemer while in Abuquerque. I bought the first Ninja 300 to arrive in ABQ and am loving it.
About 2 weeks after getting the bike, I went out to the Sandia...err..Napa Speedway for a test& tune day. Chris Beck of Fastbecks Motorcycles showed me the ropes and coached me up to near a race pace. Also did many runs up and down the Sandi Crest Road and many of the various curvy roads around ABQ. Unfortuantely, I was only there for a short time before moving to Clovis.

Since moving out to FLAT Clovis, I've been craving the twisty mountain roads and getting back out on the track. Hopefully soon I get orders to ABQ as I'd like to get my race license and spend more time at the track.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning some things from the experienced riders/racers here.

Thank you for the welcome gentlemen. I'm currently in A-Stan til about July. I've been busy ordering parts though so when I get back I'll have everything I need to get the bike track day ready.
The major parts will be an Area P full system and FuelMoto programmer, woodcraft clip-ons, yoshi frame sliders. Also, 15T front sprocket, steering head bearings, targa FE just to name a few.

Well honestly, the price and map support from area p. I really haven't done too much research on the PC V or bazzaz programmers. How much advantage is there with one of the full suite programmers?

Getting out to track was freaking awesome! I learned a ton in that one day and gained a huge amount of confidence in not only my abilities but also the capabilities of the bike.
It has definitely made me a better rider right from the start. Unfortunately, I now have the bug!

You should do it man. I was the most fun I've had on my bike yet. Just find someone who knows what they're doing to show you the ropes. Get your legs and core in shape too because you won't be sitting down much. Imagine holding a squat while throwing the bike around for 15 minutes straight.
Everyone I talked to at the track was very friendly and willing to help. One of the SMRI racers actually let me take his 250 for a spin around the track (after I let him try the 300) to see the differences. The 300 definitely had a lot more punch and felt smoother, more in control than the 250. The slipper clutch on the 300 was very apparent after riding 250. I scared myself a bit after getting the back end loose with an aggressive downshift.
