The next U.S. President

This will be a non-scientific survey to see if ninjetters can pick who the next U.S. President will be. After the election we'll see if the majority of us got it right or not.

A IMPORTANT NOTE: We all have our own personal opinion on whom would be better to lead this nation so freely discuss but please let's keep it civil and agree to disagree if someone has a different opinion than yours.

@Alex please lock this thread if you feel it's not appropriate for this forum or if the posts get out f hand. Thanks.

The poll says "who should be". That's a similar, yet somewhat different question than "who will be". The second one's not particularly hard to answer at any given point: fivethirtyeight.com

Ok thanks. I'll try and edit to read "who will be" which is what I meant to say but I guess I'm trying too hard to be politically correct and not offend anyone lol.

What's the population of the United States? Out of the millions, these two are the best we have? I want a do over. Can we start from the beginning again?

No matter who wins nothing will change. If you can't get rid of the "old boys congress club" you can't get things done.

Agreed! For the past two decades we have had a "do nothing congress" that is more concerned about how there party could be affected by proposed laws than what is better for the country as a whole.

Yes, it seems like our political system has become too large for "a common man or woman " to rise through the ranks and become president.

How do you define common? Obama, Reagan, Clinton, Carter, Nixon all had humble beginnings.

Gerrymandering has polarized congress to the point that anyone who is seen as compromising loses their primary to a more radical uncompromising candidate. Republicans are best at this game proven by the fact that more people voted for Democratic congressman but the Republicans have a commanding majority in congress.

It is not the Republicans fault for being better at gerrymandering, but given the fact they have more congressman with fewer votes does mean nothing is going to change soon.

Its gonna be trump. They selected him from the beginning. They wanna push the WASP agenda and help make minority's (non-whites) feel suppressed again, amongst other societal modifications. They only need a brash mouthpiece to do so. Enter Trump.

I hear some people saying they are not going to vote for anyone because all of the candidates stink. I say it's everyone's civic duty to vote and make the best decision possible but if you don't vote then you have no right to complain about who got elected.

There is another point of view that says the big 2-party machine wants everyone to vote to keep things appearing to be working. A tiny voter turnout would be embarrassing, make the system look flawed, and it would make the statement that US citizens don't like the choices they were given.

I've never missed voting in a presidential election, but when the above was pointed out to me, I did start to respect those who intentionally withhold their vote as a kind of vote of its own.

Nope I don't watch tv anymore... I know who I wanna vote in all categories except president, an I'm not sure if u wanna vote against someone or for a 3rd party, or sit out the big vote...

Hillary will probably win either way no matter how many votes anyone else gets

Well trump is threthaning to put clinton in one if he's elected.

It would be funny if these two shitehawks were a sideshow, not potential leaders of a nuclear superpower.

I can see how clinton got the democratic nod, they've been grooming her for years, but trump if you ever wondered about how hitler's rise to power happened it's being replayed for you

The chants of 'lock her up' and about the media 'lock them up', will he start building the concentration prison camps or the wall first
Or use the camps to supply free labour to build the wall...
