Well it happened, with video proof :(

Well it all started out as a good day wasn't working today figured what the hay its bright and sunny out ill go for a ride. Little did I know today was the day.

Luckily it wasn't bad i was going slow through a turn when i noticed about halfway though there was a good amount of gravel tried to push down harder to get to the inside of it *hence why i crossed over the double line* but to no avail my back tire hit it and I immediately lost traction.

Bikes not to bad previous owner had already dropped it on the same side so the actual rash isn't as noticeable since it was already there. However the turn signal did punch through my fairing and where i had my camera mounter broke that part of the fairing as well. When i get a chance ill go and take pictures of it all.

As for me I am totally fine *ATGATT*! My jacket is a little scuffed and I have marks on my boots but my feet dont hurt at all Thankfully was wearing my Sidi ST's. My gloves are a little scuffed I was wearing the Teknic xcelerators, so the knox sliders on them worked awesome! The jeans i was wearing are red route jeans and you cant even see wear I slid in them really. Under my Jeans i had on Alpinestars Bionic shorts and the jeans had built in kneepads.

All in all im completely fine and unscathed and the bike isnt too bad. WE CAN REBUILD HER WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY!

On a side note Anybody selling a left fairing

And for anyone who wants to watch me fail heres the video.

I think I would have probably stayed up straighter and rode through it. Keep the forces perpendicular to the road. Then again, I wasnt there so it's hard to tell what the best course of action was. Glad you're safe though. How fast was that? Looked to me like maybe in the 30's.

eek. I hate gravel! glad you're ok!! Its nice to read an "I crashed" story that doesn't involve a ninjette member, or any rider for that matter, getting injured.

Well, I'm glad you're ok man. I have a lot of sand where I live, so I'm super careful in the corners.

haha ya the clutch lever broke off so i attached some vice grips and rode it home with those.

if you look close the turn signal got pucnhed in through the fairing so theres a big hole and there are some scratches and i couldnt get it to show up but the inside of the fairing the bottom part i have circled in this picture its cracked about 4 inches going towards the front at 19 seconds in the video you can sort of see it thats where the camera was mounted. The top part circled is where im talking about the turn signal punching through.
The tail has a little black spot on it as well dunno if you can see what im talking about but thats where it was slideing in the back.

The left red fairing is a hell of a lot cheaper than the 2011 SE left fairing. My sh*t will set me somewhere close to $500 back!
I'm glad you're okay, Drew. Hopefully you can patch things up and get back on the saddle.

Yea it's hard to tell because of the angle of the video. What do you think you would do differently if you pass by that area again next time?

Slow down a lot more before the turn so i wouldn't have to lean so hard. I was already committed to going that fast when i got to the turn so really it was either lean harder or pick it up and go off the road, but everyone knows Hindsight is always 20/20.

I have the same colour scheme on my bike as you. I think if I damaged the fairings I wouldn't bother buying the same type. I'd probably get any colour replacement and then get the whole bike sprayed.

hitting the divider line may have aided in your fall, those things dont provide much traction and looks like you went down right after you hit it.

in order to embed a picture in a post you have to insert the html code so for instance like this except remove quotes ""
