Anyone going to Bonneville?

Bonnevile salt flat racing is about to start. Speed Week is August 8-16 and BUB is after that then a shoot out.
I am going to crew for a team called Foil Hat racing. We have a 500cc turbocharged V4 Honda. The goal is the title fastest 500 cc motorcycle on earth. The 500 v4 Honda is the exact bore and stroke as the 250 ninja.
We are doing speed week this year. So much going on I can't wait.

Look me up if you get out there.

Nice. I'm trying to convince a friend to go out there with me, would be a killer mini-vacation.

Out at the Bonneville Salt flats. Rain has delayed the racing till Monday. The track drys out quick but was under water yesterday.
That gives me time to play and take photos. This is me and Danny Tompsons streamliner the Challenger 2.

Two blown hemi engines 4000 hp. How fast will it go???

The event is canceled. Water on the salt is not going away. This sucks beyond belief!!! People work for years some spend there life just to get here. To just go home with nothing is just sad. I'll be back next year.

Ugh, that blows. I work with a guy who was going to go out there to break his old land speed record. He's been depressed and heartbroken since the event was cancelled. I know there's another one scheduled in September or something, but he said that one gets rained out even more frequently.

Damn.

We've had bizarre weather this month, it's been raining a lot and there are a ton of flash floods happening all over Nevada. When watching the radar, i could see they were all headed north west of me, straight towards Bonneville it seems.

Here's for dry salt next year!

That's a shame that the record runs got cancelled. I wish we could import that rain to California. I'll be riding to Wendover for the Vetter Challenge on 8/29 but we'll be riding on the roads of course.
