silencing muzzy

So I got stopped for my pipes being to loud. I have a muzzy on now and its loud. Someone told me that I could weld a silencer in. Has anyone ever done this? If so how do you do it?

Muzzy sells a "Quiet Baffle" for their mufflers. It may be enough to keep you from getting future tickets but I doubt it will be quiet enough to get your ticket signed off. You'll probably need to buy/borrow a stock exhaust.

Silencing a Muzzy..... can this be done? This may be a situation you can't fix (in a quick and easy way).

How long is your Muzzy's exhaust cannister? What's it's core diameter?

The Area P guys found they had to go with an 18 inch long cannister and reduce the core diameter from 2.0 inches to 1.75 inches to get an acceptably low noise level on their "long quiet" model.

Welding in a so-called "Quiet Baffle" would probably restrict the exhaust system, effectively returning it to the OEM exhaust's level of flow. Might have to re-jet (de-jet?) back to OEM jets.

I cut the muzzy in half so its a shorty and re-packed it too. Its makes a little less noise.
