Question About Registering-Selling Dirt Bike
I bought a dirt bike, a couple weeks ago. I was told I will receive the title, etc in the mail in about a week or two. I found this awesome old suzuki gs400 at a small local dealer and they said they would be willing to trade for the dirt bike after they check it out. My question is do I have to register it to sell it? And do I have to have the title to sell it? Or can I just give them the title when I get it in the mail.

Wait for the title, don't register it.

You only register a vehicle if you are going to be driving it. Every new owner has to register their vehicle.

You're forgeting about TAXES! The MVD usually wants their end on any transaction.

Actually, you are supposed to register a street-legal vehicle as "Non Op" in CA if you aren't going to drive it, but I don't think you can register purely off-road vehicles in most states at all.

My understanding for Florida is if you want to ride either on the grass beside public roads/highways or any state parks that allows ATV's.... It must be registered. A green decal is given when the ATV is registered but of course you must pay a registration fee and pay taxes on the purchase amount. I don't think it is "required" to register them though. There's no way they can track them.
