It's a POS but It's Mine and I Love it!

I got this thread idea from @rabies. Seems he knows what's up with this.

Post a pic of your ratty a** bike, car, truck, frankenmobile, whatever. Let em stand up and be proud one last time.

There are only 2 rules to this thread.
You have to post a pic of crappy motorized transportation
You have to put at the end of your post. "It a POS but it's mine and I love it".

Mine is;

UM Motors Dual Sport 200

Issues:
Muffler held on by a clothes hanger
Seat held on by wire
Broken starter switch
Missing gas cap
Broken bodywork
Homeaid wheel spacers
Gas tank is just sitting on the frame
Not a single working light
Starter works but with battery removed - she is kickstart only

I suspect I'm not the only one that has to deal with not having a real garage hence not having a beater to work on to really contribute much and the only thing I could do is to do one in past tense:

This motherflower right here:

(a stock pic that I found through google; same year and color though)

1984 Oldsmobile Firenza. My uncle gave it to me when I was in highschool. It was his backup car that sat around for years before he decided selling it was more trouble than its worth so he handed it to me.

Suspension was pretty much gone, radiator kept going out no matter how many times we patched it, powered window didn't work for 3 out of 4 windows, there was a leak in the powersteering or something that screeched horribly until I accelerated, AC stopped working ages ago, and the interior smelled like cheese because apparently one of my infant cousins puked in it.

The engine was so underpowered that when I drove from L.A. to Fresno to visit some friends, the car would only go 35mph on the Grapevine. And it overheated from going that speed.

It was the best thing my 17-year-old-self had and I called it the "davemobile".

It was a POS but it was mine and I loved it.

Well in that case, Here's mine. She's behind the bike in every picture. Too bad you can't see all her bumper stickers. At least you can see the shiny silver duct tape holding the bumper on.

This ('95 Civic) was my POS, but I loved it to death. (almost literally)

first vehicle) 2005 Hyundai Accent GT. got it when i was 16. its a 1.6L inline 4. i've replaced the entire front brakes, the clutch, the rear drums need to be replaced badly, it was infested with rats, which then died and sat in it for 2 years before i was able to get back to it. since it was my first vehicle i drove it very hard. i've crashed it 3 times, the suspension, linkage, pivots, CVs, and anything with rubber on it is now in dire condition. this is my day-to-day grocery getter.

it's a POS, but it's mine and i love it.

second vehicle) 2009 ninja 250. what can i say! around 15k i blew the transmission the first time. again at 25k. (im gud at shifting) then somewhere around 30k i blew the first engine. a short while after the second engine was in, i crashed, damaging the third transmission requiring another rebuild. i've crashed this bike like 5 times now. basically everything on it has been modified to suit my needs (its a dedicated race bike now). most people who see it fear for my safety.

it's a POS, but it's mine and i love it.

third vehicle) 1993 yamaha FZR-600. wow, this thing. i got it for $300 in really bad condition. managed to get it running again after rebuilding basically everything. it now weighs about 300lbs (so much crap removed). it still has lots of issues since i'm too lazy to finish. it needs a real airbox and a proper tune. since i've bought it, i've put somewhere around 10k miles on it (estimation- it has no gauges. i run out of gas a lot.) this has been easily one of the biggest joys and biggest pain in my ass at the same time. when shes good, life is good. when shes not good,... well **** that stupid piece of ****.

(yellow one in the back)

it's a POS, but it's mine and i love it.

fourth vehicle) 1988 mitsubishi mighty max 2.0 shorty. this was my grandfathers truck. he bought it new. its got about 100k on it. when i became it's caretaker, it was leaking oil and coolant, barely ran, had dead rats clogging intake lines, has no power steering, AC has lost its charge, the alignment is completely ****ed, all the pivots and rubbers are toast. so far, during its duty for me it's dropped the pin for the shifter getting it stuck in 3rd gear until i was able to repair. then had electrical issues. then recently the shaft (which drives the fan) for the water pump sheered in half while i was driving home from the track in the desert. the poor things temperature shot straight through the roof... spewed fluids everywhere. i redid the top and gaskets, replaced the water pump, hoses, thermostat, put in an electric powered radiator fan, and a tachometer. also had to redo the emissions control for smog. i believe this truck will last at least another 100k miles.

it's a POS, but it's mine and i love it.

these are just the vehicles with plates. i could go on all day about the non-plated bikes and vehicles. but i'll spare you guys. 8 non plated bikes, 2 of which were custom mini builds (minus engine and suspension). 3 cars including a weird half built lotus 7/rx7 combo.

Ill make my own thread when I get some better pics BUT here is my POS I just bought the other day off of Craiglist for a steal.

She rides sweet! Already took her out on some trails and she did great. I even 2uped a little on some easy trails and she still rode great.

they hide from the heat in cars during the summer, then hide from the rain and cold during the winter. most houses in the area have pest control, so vehicles are one of their last safe refuges to sleep for a night without fear from the kitties and coyotes. parking close to a bush or with a window open is a sure way to pick up a straggler. also, pretty much any time one of our vehicles sits longer than a year, we find a family of some sort or another living in

This is my current daily, a '89 Yammie DT50 2 stroke liquid cooled 6-speed ripper. Screams 10K+ rpm all the way to work and back, about 55 mph. WOT for 45 minutes each way.

It was being bashed around cow pastures and had all the plastics busted/missing, everything packed with mud, and a blown crank seal when i bought it. The only thing that saved it was the crankcase was full of oil from the blown seal.

I rebuilt the engine, new tires, new chain, and patched up the plastics... that's about it. Paid 200 for the bike, 100 for odds and ends and i've put nearly 6000 miles on it since May of last year... she's a great little monster.

This is my motorcycle hauler, a trusty '68 ford F-100. Its bordering on a classic, but the crappy paint job and general rattyness puts it on the border of POS.

This is my 86 BRAT in the background. Definitely a POS but still cooler than your car. Cherry bomb on the open headers, rust everywhere, 260,000 miles and still fires right up. She's in cold storage now because i don't need 2 cars.

In the foreground is my lovely wife and a definitely-not-a-pos 1969 Bridgestone 100TMX moto that i restored, rode once or twice, and sold... bummer

Everyone needs a bike they can beat the ever lovin' sh*t out of and simply not care. It allows a rider to focus on you instead of worrying about the bike. Break the bike!! lol who cares....

thought my wife on here talking about me for a moment, how she find me?

I have a 92 lebaron gts, put a big turbo intercooler , crazy clutch and aluminum flywheel, puts 230hp a the wheels, it's a blast to drive and i poured a ton of $ into it. sounds like pos due to puck clutch and 3 in stainless exhaust. Top leaks, leaks tons of oil, struts go oink oink oink.

fourth vehicle) 1988 mitsubishi mighty max 2.0 shorty. this was my grandfathers truck. he bought it new. its got about 100k on it. when i became it's caretaker, it was leaking oil and coolant, barely ran, had dead rats clogging intake lines, has no power steering, AC has lost its charge, the alignment is completely ****ed, all the pivots and rubbers are toast. so far, during its duty for me it's dropped the pin for the shifter getting it stuck in 3rd gear until i was able to repair. then had electrical issues. then recently the shaft (which drives the fan) for the water pump sheered in half while i was driving home from the track in the desert. the poor things temperature shot straight through the roof... spewed fluids everywhere. i redid the top and gaskets, replaced the water pump, hoses, thermostat, put in an electric powered radiator fan, and a tachometer. also had to redo the emissions control for smog. i believe this truck will last at least another 100k miles.

it's a POS, but it's mine and i love it.

these are just the vehicles with plates. i could go on all day about the non-plated bikes and vehicles. but i'll spare you guys. 8 non plated bikes, 2 of which were custom mini builds (minus engine and suspension). 3 cars including a weird half built lotus 7/rx7 combo.

What happened to your pictures?
