Compare 08 and 12 Ninja 250 Stator and Rotor.

So i got the 2012 motor in the bike but figured out that the plug end of the 2012 stator is different. Comparing the stator with 2008 there is not much difference ... The rotor/flywheel does have some difference in construction.

So, the question is : Anyone know if i can safely use the stator from the 2012 on the 2008? I am not planning to install the FactoryPro Woodruff key for now.

If i cannot use the stator from 2012, then i am planning to cut the wire ends to use the connector. (as the connector from 2012 will not fit the 08 OEM harness)

The online fiche is flipped. But the base part# is same.

2008 --
STATOR -- 21003-0074
ROTOR -- 21007-0114

2012 --
STATOR -- 21003-0114
ROTOR -- 21007-0152

Suggestions/Advise?

Here are some pictures : [The top is the 2012, bottom is the 2008]

I recall that the 1988-2007 EX250F and the 1986-1987 stators could swap with a little machining as detailed in the ninja250.org FAQ. Because things should be even more similar between these I would assume that it takes less work. Seeing that they changed the connector makes me doubt it's a simple swap: that change seems specifically designed to prevent it.

Both 12 and 08 has 3 wires. The white plug is from 12 and black plug is from 08.

Checking the continuity now if i have to swap the plug.

swapped the plug and kept the wires in actual position left to right. Per the electrical diagram in Page 16-32 it doesnt really matter which yellow wire goes where [Otherwise Kawi should have had a color code or a stripe?]

OK, I see that it wasn't machining they were talking about, but perhaps their comparison will help with this one:
