Post Carburetor help

I'm pretty sure my ninja 250R is having pilot jet issues because it can turn on at idle with no problem but when I touch the throttle even a little it dies. It's inconsistent sometimes it works times it doesn't. And if it does die then it won't even go to idle. I wanted to know if there is any excellent and thorough guide on how to take off carburetors, clean them, and put them back on. All the guides I find online are old or just awful. Thanks for everything.

There's information about how to thoroughly clean the carbs here. DannoXYZ has posted it many times. The problem you describe is typical of dirty idle and low speed circuits.

Ducatiman (board name here) offers a pro carb restoration service as well. I sent mine to him, and it was like a different engine when I got them back on.

Welcome to the board, Lucas!

I have had a similar problem with my bike when I first got it
and I pulled and cleaned the carbs 3 times and finally got it to work but it still wasn't perfect... so I decided to pull them and send them to Ducattiman
instead of trying to do it again... the internal passage ways are near impossible to clean without special tools....
I even bought a ultra sonic cleaner, but I don't have a soda blaster
so I just decided to let Gorden do the hard work for me rather than take a week to do it myself...and then perhaps have the same problem still
....mine work now but it takes forever to get off the choke it is very cold blooded when it's cold it will not take throttle at all.... so yes I believe it's the internal passage ways that are restricted
save the headaches and send them to Ducattiman !
....the price he charges is reasonable
...
Bob.....
