Fuel bars possibly off?

Hey guys, I've had my 2014 Ninja 300 for awhile now, and I've racked up 2700 miles on it. Today I topped off the bike, filling it to the aluminum ring, and when I turned it on it is missing the top fuel bar. I haven't noticed this before, and can't think of a reason as to why the fuel gauge wasn't full. Do you guys have any guesses?

Thanks!

you can remove the pump and see if the float has full travel

Or alternatively ignore the problem, since it won't affect the mid-low range at all.
