My new Ninja fits me like a sexy glove...
Hello,
I bought an 09' 250R a month ago and I am so in love with it, I 'd marry it if I could! This is actually the 3rd bike I've bought and tried out since I first got my endorsement last year. I first bought an 04' Suzuki GS500 but since I'm rather vertically challenged (5' 3/4"), even with lowering bones, shaving the seat and the tallest boots I could find, I was still on my toes...not to mention practically laying on the tank. I did ok with it but wasn't really gaining much confidence. Enter my very uncharacteristic impulse buy...an 09' Buell Blast early this summer. With its low profile seat, the bike fit me perfectly right off the show room floor. and it was still a 500...though...a THUMPER 500...which rides quite different. While I was much safer and did gain a lot more confidence on it, I'm not really a thumper fan and could not quit kicking myself for making such an impulse purchase for a bike that I simply did not love. I put about 500 miles on it and was lucky enough to find someone to buy it from me. Considering it was brand new, I came out very lucky on the deal. I had had an adversion to owning a "mere" 250, wanting a "manly man" bike. But as my fiance' pointed out to me, I'm NOT exactly a manly man! I eventually fell in love with the new Ninja. I could hardly even touch my toes to the ground leaning the bike over on the showroom floor. But surprisingly, just dropping it an inch put it right smack in between the height of my other two bikes. And with the smaller tank size, it fit me much safer than the Suzuki. And I have to say...having ridden the 2 different 500's versus the 250r, it keeps up just as well. It doesn't have the torque that the Buell has and its geared VERY very differently, but it picks up and goes and has all the power I ever need and keeps up with the big boys just fine. The only thing I've done with it so far is to have custom graphics made for it to match my Shoei Helmet. I know, I know...a very GIRLY thing to start with. Now that its all girl....I plan on making it more "manly" next spring with some more beefy mods. But for now...I'm very content....and having put 700 miles on it in the 5 weeks I've owned it....I'm very in love with my Ninja.

Thanks for the warm welcomes! One of the reasons I loved the idea of learning to ride so much was the great camaraderie of riders everywhere!
