2011 World Superbike Assen race results—Rea, Checa split wins

Race report and results from the Assen round of the World Superbike Championship, with Castrol Honda’s Jonathan Rea takes Race One ahead of Biaggi and Checa, while the Althea Ducati riders adds to his points lead with a win in Race Two over Biaggi and ReaWith the memory of his double victory last year at the historic Assen circuit still fresh in his mind, Castrol Honda’s Jonathan Rea picked the right time to step up his game and win his first race of the 2011 World Superbike season by taking Race One over Aprilia Alitalia’s Max Biaggi and points leader Carlos Checa on the Althea Racing Ducati. In Race Two, the order of the top three was reversed, with Checa taking a clear-cut victory over Biaggi, with Rea taking the final podium spot.
