petcock question.

I recently did a rebuild on my petcock got the k&l kit off eBay. When i was replacing the diaphragm I dropped the plastic spacer that the diaphragm sit in. When i went to put the new one on I noticed that the plastic piece had a flat side Anderson a side with a circular indent. Does anyone know what side the plunger is supposed to be pressed against? The flat side or the circular indent side?

Just so everyone knows this question is referring to an ex500 not the 250. I asked this same question at the ex500 forum site but know one wants to answer me since I called fog a douchebag. Thanks for any help if you can give any.

Well I don't like fog either but there is no reason for name calling...

Have you tried looking at the parts diagram or the thread on here about petcock rebuilding?

No I haven't thought about looking at a parts diagram that's probably a good idea, thanks I will check it out to see.

Just checked the 250 wiki and even though the petcock on the 250 is a little different than the 500, I believe I seen that the washer side of the diaphragm sits against the circular indent. I know it sounds stupid but I had no reference points from the 500 wiki, no one really went in-depth like someone did on the 250 wiki. Thank you mgentz for the advice, tomorrow I will make sure I put it in properly.
