Chainguard question......

Recently picked up a 2005 EX250.....am dissecting it, detailing (cleaning) every part (or system) as I go. I noticed the inside of the plastic chainguard has a rough texture.....not smooth like the outside, or like the inside of every other chainguard I have ever dealt with. Is this the only model like that?? Why would Moma-Kaw do that.....it makes cleaning the "goo" off so much harder. The only thing I can think of is maybe it prevents Lube-sling from running out??

My 2005's chainguard feels smooth inside. Are you sure you're not feeling dried chain grease and road gunk stuck to it?

Mine is also smooth inside. It could be grit that is stuck to dried on lube.

It's definately "textured", not just grime/grit/abrasion.......it's on both sides (inside). Does not matter......just thought it "strange".....

Huh... very strange. Maybe something odd happened during molding.
