SILVERSTONE have launched a new initiative to introduce children from 11 years-old to two wheels.

Called 'Rookie Rides', for £5 participants can enjoy a 20 minute instruction session on a Yamaha Jog RR scooter, using Alpinestars protective clothing. You'll learn the basics of machine familiarisation, how to pull away and stop safely then progressing to slow speed manoeuvring.

The scooters are fitted with kill switches and all training takes places under the watchful eye of expert instructors.

Those who complete taster session get a £5 discount on the full Rookie Ride experience, which costs £50 and lasts for one and a half hours. At the end of the full course, the rider is issued with a certificate.

It's a great way to introduce youngsters to two wheels in a safe and controlled environment.
