Good video. To me they're not history, they're current motorcycles. I see those 250s and many other 2-strokes at the annual Deals Gap 2-stroke meet. This year it'll be May 21-28, and takes over the whole Deals Gap motel. I'll be there with my H2, my Yamaha DT100, and my Ninja 250. You're allowed to bring 4-strokes too

To me, all those 2 strokes in the 70's were awesome, but they were leading up to one final hell of a 2 stroke bike.

Here's the 1984 RZ350 I had:

Oh yes, definitely. Several RZs show up at the meet each year. I got to ride one on the Dragon last year and it's making me very tempted to get one of my own. Me on Tim Steele's very well set up RZ350:

Thank You!

A nice Xmas gift. 40 yrs ago I started racing (at the ripe age of 30) an RD400. It wasn't long b4 it'd become a "Poor Man's TZ" w clip-ons & fairing. I raced 5yrs & stayed involved w CRA 'til the mid 90s. In recent decades I've built a GT750 'Money pit' and later a GT380. Way back I had 3 350GTRs(can you say Bridgestone nut?). The little Ninja is the perfect way to relive the screaming tiddlers without the reliability drawbacks. Merry Christmas! "Guzzi" John Pierson-Champlin Minnesota

Luckily, back when I owned my RZ, I didn't know what a good chassis was. Great memories on that bike, but I get the feeling if I rode one today I wouldn't quite relive the misty water colored memories. But maybe an Aprilia 250RS might be fun to rip around on.

One thing I wish Yamaha had done was convert them to EFI. Would help with on/off powerband and major improvement to emissions. To point where they'd be street-legal! KTM has some 2T EFI off-road bike in non-U.S. markets and they are quite civilised!
