Threads showing through my tire.

This is a pretty dumb question because I know I need to change the tire as soon as possible. I just bought a tire and it arrives Tuesday. As I got home from work today I noticed that I can see threads now. With work and school, I need to put another 150 miles on the bike before the tire arrives. Any advice or if you think it can handle it or should I absolutely not ride it until I get the new tire?

Is this for real ?

I see your bike is a 2011.....assuming your tires are stock, how many miles have you got on them ? I only ask cos my '10 has 7k miles and my tire in the back is bad but by no means bald or showing threads. I don't think the 250r is adept at burnouts so I had to ask.
