Dear Friends, My brother lost his battle with cancer after a long hard fight. His memorial serivce will be in Houston on May 2 and I need to be there.
This presents a quandry which I apologize to all of you for causing. I won't be able to attend and help lead things. Our options are as follows: 1. Cancel for May 3 & 4 and reschedule ( the next 3 weekends in May look OK for me ) 2. Go ahead and do the rides and get-together with someone else stepping up to coordinate. Is anyone who was planning to attend willing to do this? Please let us know. Again, I'm very sorry for the sudden changes

First, I am sure that I speak for all when I say we are most sorry to hear of your loss, and extend our sincere condolences to you and the family.
This ride was your baby, and I think it would be appropriate to wait until you can be part of it. I vote for rescheduling the ride. Who knows, maybe some who could not make it to this ride would be able to attend a new date?

We will absolutely reschedule. I wouldn't feel right having this rally without you present. I'm really sorry to hear about your brother. Stay strong and be with friends and family

Vic, I'm really sorry to hear that news. Be with your family, and please make yourself and those close to you your priority right now.
Even though I'm only a "maybe", I don't think it would feel right for the ride to go on without you. My vote is for a cancel, and reschedule. My sympathies. |

Thank you for all your kind thoughts and your understanding. I'm glad the consensus is to reschedule, I want to meet and ride with you all very much. I'm thinking the weekend of May 17-18 would work . I'll start a new thread to avoid more confusion.
